Underpin .?.? Not Fun

This fight has way to much stuff going on with people that have special needs for delves designed to be " Solo " content actual mess.

I’m probably not going to clear it. Seems like a huge pain for little gain.

If you hate the base difficulty, wait until you see the ?? mode.

5 adds per spawn, constant floor dodging, a dedicated dps window on a timer, oil puddles that don’t clear and do damage/slide you around, and buggy bombs that Brann likes to frost trap.

It’s not at all designed well for either side.

In all seriousness. it’s possible, it’s a lot easier with an interact key bound, but yeah. It’s real rough.

I put double ?? but the thread only allowed one " ? " so i spaced the it apart with dots…

It all happens so fast by the time I wipe out one group another is coming right after. If you fall behind soon the arena is filled with these dudes. And then trying to dps down the shield can be rough if you have aoe everywhere around it too.

I just took a break cause I know I need more damage too and don’t want to grind.

Yeah, I had that issue with a post as well. Apparently they don’t like the double question mark emphasis in titles for whatever reason.

Ugh, can’t wait for S3 nemesis to see what that dance is gonna be about lol.

I’m not a huge fan of this fight, but I think I’m gonna keep doing it at least for a while to see if I can figure out the optimal strategy and combination of curios to make it controllable/easy.

I was able to complete it once on my prot war, but I was far from having it under control. I feel like there’s something I’m missing. Probably not, but just maybe.

I will say that as a prot war, you don’t need much gear. With the right single target burst spec, between shield charge and demolish, it’s more than enough to kill his shield. Beyond that, you just need enough hp to not die. I bet you could do it at ilvl 620, maybe lower if there’s some item or talent for better hp regen.

Yeah, like whenever I did ?? Zek again after my kill, I could keep doing it over and over again without dying. I’m not even sure if I could reproduce the same results on this encounter. Gonna wait until my Rogue is a bit more geared than my Priest is though.

Yeah exactly. With zek, I got to the point where I could do it as fury with no healer and tried to get my time down. That was super fun. Ain’t happening with this guy, or at least I don’t think so yet.

I’m sure some mythic geared folks will be able to…

“Solo” does not mean “easy.” ?? is entirely optional content. It is okay if not everything is accessible to every player. The game has been missing seriously challenging solo content ever since the Mage Tower went away and I don’t see the point in getting rid of it now that it’s here. ? still exists and lower tier delves are still plenty easy if that’s the sort of content you want to chase.

Gear actually doesn’t help much with Underpin since most of the dodge mechanics are one-shots, and the largest failure point in the fight is add management - which gear won’t help with since it will always take exactly 3 ball kicks to kill them.

You certainly don’t need Mythic gear. I beat him with this Feral pretty early on in the season before my guild started doing Heroic raid. So I had a mix of Champion and Hero gear from Normal raid and delves.

Are you having problems with Tier 1 delves? If you are at a higher level, drop down one and try again.
The difference can be significant.

I wish they made these as curated mage tower fights but instead it’s a spell cooldown system of RNG slop if you win or lose.

I did it on Selira-Ravenholdt with a sub-max level Brann, using 100% delve, queued content, or open world rewards. Much like last time, it’s fully doable within the delve environment, and even without maxing out Brann.

It really isn’t. You’d have an easier time arguing that Zekvir was RNG reliant. The biggest make-or-break mechanic in the fight is the adds and there’s no RNG there. Neither in where they spawn nor in how many balls it takes to get rid of them. You can control their spawn location as well as the general location of the bombs you need to kill them.

what does this even mean

I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ll get around to it eventually… I did ?? in season 1 and it was pretty easy, so with all the pain I’ve heard about this one, maybe it’ll require more than a handful of attempts. I’m in no rush though, can just wait till I have more gear.

How? I’ve had them spawn clear on the other side of the arena, as well as had them spawn in 3 separate locations at once.
