Yes it will, as made evident previously.
The ONLY thing that works is money.
Well written and I agree with all of it.
As someone who usually sees this type of content as their bread and butter, I’m finding it all to be terribly convoluted. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, perhaps it’s because I’m not participating in the driving nonsense? I think I’m just going to keep doing my weeklies/Delves and see what comes passively for the first few months lol
I farmed mobs for the Darkfuse rep for 30 minutes before I gave it up. Mobs drop so few and you need what, over 8,000? No thanks. No reason why there couldn’t be a couple of dailies or weeklies for them. Now, I just hope that the rep isn’t going to be part of a meta achievement later on.
or just skip the rep entirely so their metrics suck. whatever i get passively from the very few undermine activities is all it will show for me. maybe it matters maybe it doesn’t; i don’t have the data.
This reminds me of in DF, the black dragonflight farms.
People would do it, grind 8-10 hours of Djaradin mobs in a 5-man group to get exalted, all for the black dragon skins.
It was worth it in the end- but yeah, Darkfuse rep is basically a repeat of that.
Everything else?
Well, folks will be farming these long after the expansion ends.
I’m just grinding it casually, not really chasing the cosmetics except certain ones, and those aren’t tied to rep.
Stuff like the Personal-Use Sapper pet, they’re just rare drops.
Not sure what this means? Can you clarify?
There are consumables you can buy that supposedly increase the drop rate of market research, but inflicts nasty penalties on you for doing so. The first one available is a 10 minute potion that halves your max HP but lets your first attack in combat be an auto-crit, the second one is a kind of 3-minute totem thing that auto-aggroes enemies in a 10ish yard radius and makes them deal 50% more damage to you, and the final one is a zapper that gives rare-spawn enemies +20% haste, -25% damage taken and makes them radiate nature damage until killed.
I only have access to the first two but IIRC, it feels like they each add 1 extra market research if any drop.
it would cool that those consumbles works on everything and not just killing enemies. (for example increasing mr from scrapping and trash)
Yeah, but honestly I can’t be sure if they’re doing anything at all, that’s how weak the bonuses feel to me.
I tried popping a potion and the advertiser during a scrap job and none of the spawning adds gave even a single piece of market research. Tried them again on a 5-man rare, got a whopping 7 research (about what I expected if I hadn’t used them at all) and even tried pulling regular mobs into the advertiser’s radius and I was still only getting 1 every few kills until the advertiser expired.
Very much this.
“A lot” being the operative word. SL virtually hated and abused its players on a variety of levels (it was a total mess!) which caused even hardcore players to quit.
A complaint about Undermine Reputations won’t have the same effect. Making noise would probably be more effective.
The fact that the reps and grinds were left in this state is baffling.
Surely this can’t be intentional but the lack of any communication tells me it must be.
Who the hell got paid to develop this?
I really love maxing out my renown and reputations. Well I did until Undermine. The I am just not vibing enough with the zone to care about them. Still haven’t even figured out how to complete a CHETT list or do the Darkfuse reputation. I just do the 7 weekly quests and get additional rep through the weekly dungeon event.
I don’t even see a reason to take alts to the zone.
I feel like the Nerubian “sub-reputations” were way more generous than the Undermine versions.
Idk, it was easy to hit Mastermind with all three.
With Undermine, it’s gonna take months. They’ll probably buff it in time.
Darkfuse is actually way better than the other goblin reps. You can casually grind 200 darkfuse rep items a day doing rares/scraps/dumpsters and be done with some luck in a couple of months. The other reps will take many months to finish for players without a ton of alts, and who knows how long to finish up paragons.
Really surprised they did the full 42000 rep exalted grind for each goblin faction after making the Nerubians way less. Seems like they just didn’t think about it much.
Some kind of a buff from completing the Undermine storyline or progressing the Cartels meta reputation would’ve been a nice addition.
I’ve been doing the scrap farm for the rep since it’s almost an entirely afk affair. Plus it has the added bonuses of gear/mogs, currency and pets. I’ve been making quite a lot of gold from selling those pets.
they were just saying a few months ago that the old rep system was bad and that was the main reason they were combining all the reps across your account and the development of the Renown system…
Then they go and use the old system anyways for the Cartels…
Relax. It’s just Week 5. What are you gonna do for the rest of the weeks if you get Exalted to all Cartels right now?
Working as intended. We will get there. What are you afraid of? Are you a Tourist, who plays for 2 to 3 weeks then vanish?
