Undermine Reputations NEED improvements

I wouldn’t mind the Darkfuse grind so much, if all the items didn’t mean you were also probably going to get killed if you’re not in a group.

Blood Bash? Kinda hits pretty hard.

dont farm kills farm the digs impossible to die that way and its really quick
the other 4 reps are whats going to be a grind only rep from World quests and 500 from the chetts list isnt much

Yeah, that’s what I ended up doing. It’s slower but it’s also a lotttt less annoying.

Although there were times I still had a supplement on and Garbage spawns a lot more often nowadays, so I ended up dying anyway.

You get around 15 market research per dig, IIRC. Neutral to exalted would take 560 digs. At 2 minutes per dig, assuming 0 downtime which is impossible, that should be a little over 18 and a half uninterrupted hours of salvage. You seriously did all of that in one day?

Takes less if you do it during DMF and doing other stuff to jump to digs faster

Pretty much this, so long as the rep grind isn’t painful and I can idly get everything progressed along side my character, it just means the rewards will trickle in by just playing the game the intended way. And so far? That’s exactly what it is doing.

I don’t know how ya’ll grind for 9 hours straight but at least it’s an option these days instead of being hardlocked.

But Blizzards loves us to grind. Have you not realised that by now? Its their absolute go-to on any new content. It is guaranteed, absolutely, to have some form of grind.

It is, after all, completely voluntary. And that’s always their reasoning. You don’t have to do it, its just a carrot-on-a-stick to make us all keep moving forward. Its a huge positive for their time-played metric and they will never do away with it.

At the end of the day most of what you get if not all of what you get from renown / reputations at this point are cosmetics and maybe some easy boost gear for alts that hit max level. And almost all reps get idly boosted to max by just doing the occasional world quest lap, or weeklies / dailies which contribute to your ilvl increases anyways. Two birds, one stone.

You mean, it might take a good chunk of a season to farm some rep? Oh, the horror.

Sure, assuming you do the content, or a lot of it. End of the day, Undermine gets rather boring rather fast. Me, I think Undermine should have formed part of Siren Isle. You do that patch content, complete a detailed questline which opens a tunnel down to Undermine, and continue on there, with both zones interacting on available content (things like upgrading the ring to something new through Undermine activity, upgrading the mount you get on the Isle by adding mechanical parts to make it a flying mount). Just give me 10 minutes and I could come up with a whole huge raft of things the zones could have done together.

Why not do that? I’m not altogether sure it wasn’t intended, what with it being so goblin-theme, all the tunnel activities that happened on the Isle and how short a timeframe it covered. etc. They should have done it, its a pity they were so shortsighted.

No, it won’t. Not even a little bit.

Siren Isle was BfA content or at least the terrain was before they repurposed it as a mini-patch. So I doubt they really had any complicated ideas involving both at the time, nor were they willing I’m sure. So it makes sense why they’re not akin to one another.

Shadowlands and the great exodus begs to differ. It can work, just requires a LOT of people to quit.

They put these grinds into the game to keep people from complaining about lack of content

Maybe it would help to not be so obsessive about reputations. Just play the game, have fun and what happens, happens. It seems like grinding and grinding to max out the reps drains all the fun from the game. So what if it takes a long time? So what if you never get exalted on one of them? Nothing bad happens.

You also forget, that you don’t need everything either. Sounds like you are a victim of FOMO which is even more hilarious when you realize you can finish all this up in future expansions regardless of how long it takes.

Thankfully rep grinds are largely for collectors and solo players nowadays, rather than essential as it was in SL. It is not like you can’t use the mounts from TWW in other content, don’t why you’d be doom and gloom over rep, especially considering MoP rep grinds. Talk about a bad time! In all seriousness though modern rep grinds whilst annoying are still an improvement over the ways of old

That’s a lot of words just to say “I don’t know how MMO’s work, want instant gratification and don’t want to spend the life cycle of the patch doing the content to achieve the goals set by the developers.”

And yet it was used in TWW. How would it matter? They put in activities and location alterations that would not have been in the BfA site.

/twitches in Zereth Mortis PTSD…

Yeah, I’m hoping that there will be some knob loosening coming up at some point. Either that, or it will turn into another entry on my ever-expanding “oh yeah, I’ll get back to that grind in another expansion or two” list.

Please. This grind is tame by WoW standards.

Go figure out how much anima to fully build out all 4 covenants AND buy out their inventories. Especially when we lived in a non ZM world that didn’t throw anima chunks at you from every nook and cranny with chests or let you swap covenants freely so farming the grateful tokens or whatever they are a truly hell grind.

Or ZM and farming for the entire protosynthesis collection…I was watching Supernatural on Netflix and I think I got through 2 or maybe even 3 seasons entirely on the nights were I mindlessly farmed it in a 5 man group of the hyperspawning anima things whose name also escapes me. Just me on a brewmaster monk with a statue down scrolling my mousewheel bound to spinning jade kick and right clicking my shrunk window to loot a corpse every minute or so.

It’s all but guaranteed the cartel rep will get included in the next major patch where Undermine isn’t the newest content at the minimum. I’d also likely wager we’d see rep tied to both the overall faction and your chosen cartel if analytics shows not “enough” paragon caches/drops are being obtained and I think I even recall Blizzard saying paragon caches have inherent bad luck protection significantly increasing your odds of obtaining the rare loot the more you get…but maybe that specific to whenever that was when I saw that update.

I wouldn’t worry too much. Later in the season rep gains will probably get increased as “catch up” then further increased in S3.
