Underlight angler after BFA

So, i just recently came back to wow after a long break, i’m trying to get the underlight angler, but i’m not quite sure what the requirements are NOW. i know what they were during legion. currently i beleieve they are either different or its not possible to get the rod any longer as the achievement nessisairy either doesnt exist or is hidden. i would appreciate anyone with more insight into this :smiley: thanks so much and happy gaming :slight_smile:

The requirements haven’t changed. Max fishing skill for Legion, complete the Legion rare fish achievement, fish until you find the Luminous Pearl.

Yep, same requirements still.

Works in BFA, too, so fun (also WOD, etc.)

The only kind of sad part is that there is still all that room on it, for stuff to add on, but they didn’t add additional things for BFA (which could have easily been added, based off of “azerite power.” )

I’ve been disappointed with fishing in general in BfA. Legion had a lot of cool fishing-related stuff, but this expansion? Almost nothing.

As someone who enjoys fishing in WoW for some odd reason, I have to agree. I mean even running around looking for specific schools of fish feels pointless when you can catch all of the important fish in open water.

I unlocked the angler rod on my hunter but not on my current main or alts >.>

I really wish it was account wide… come to think of it, is the fishing achievement account wide? Can i just max out legion fishing and get the pearl?

Have to agree. Fishing in BFA doesn’t even meet the requirements of being “phoned in.” It is so drab with none of the extras that I have come to enjoy with fishing over the years. Maybe we’ll get something in 8.2 but not having a lot of hope.

The achievement “Bigger Fish to Fry” (catch all 18 rare fish) is the advanced version “A Cast Above the Rest” (catch any one of the rare fish), so is hidden at first until you get the first achievement.

There are lots of NPC fishermen scattered around and the Outriggers mini-faction feels like it was the foundation for a block of fishing content. If there was a plan, I guess it didn’t make the cut.

(not that I’m starved for things to do)

I just got the pole on my mage today.

You can purchase most of the lures on the AH if you have lots of gold, or just fish in pools.

You only need 100 Legion Fishing skill, which is easy to get.

Yup, especially since you toss the rare fish back for an immediate +5 to your fishing skill. I caught my first special lure when i was 5/100 legion fishing with no arcane lure. During that two minutes, I caught four of the rares for an immediate +20 to my fishing. I was 100/100 before I finished my third special lure to completion. If you are going after the UA, getting to 100/100 legion fishing is a joke. You will hit this looooong before you need it at the end.

I’ve got the UA on one toon, I know its not account wide. But the achievement for Bigger Fish to Fry is account wide … if I want the UA on my allied toon on the same account do I just try and fish up the pearl …since it says I have the achievement. Or do I actually have to do that achievement again on the allied toon.

As far as I’ve tried, the teleport to nearest fish pool does not work any longer.

Bigger Fish to Fry isn’t account wide it’s a bug in the way the achievement is displayed.

I was bummed too when doing it on a new alt.

Blizzard please make this achievement account wide so it can be easily gotten on all my alts, thank you for your consideration
