Under the Shadow and Shadow of Doom completed, yet no quartermaster

Hello all,

As the title states, both of these quest have been completed. The only thing the Emissary offers is to go kill the Karazhan boss for the Monster Slayer kit. Am I missing something?

The quartermasters are in the capitals.

how do you complete the Shadows of Doom? What I read on WoWhead vs what i see are different. I see no summoners. Ive killed scores of the the elite mobs but not sure how to summon the Shadow. Am I missing something?

I have 3 of the 4 pieces of the cloth set - Im trying to get the Cloth chest piece. Can’t find out how to summon the mob… ???

The crystal has to die, then you get the channelers/summoners, then you have to pay 8 crystals to summon

You must collect 8x [Necrotic Rune] from the regular mobs around the crystal. Keep killing mobs until 4 acolytes spawn. Interact with the acolytes and it will have an option to use 8x necrotic runes to interrupt the ritual, then you have to kill an elite 72 (make sure you’re powerful enough to solo it or group it. Once that one is dead, quest is completed.

Careful: can’t complete quest in raid.

hahaha I have over 100 necrotic runes and farmed every site and have yet to see any acolytes spawn all day… HOURS… Im farming solo and see none. I have about 20 purples in my bank now from killing the elites so far… I JUST abandoned and reaccepted the quest to try to see if it fixes it maybe

It takes about 30-45 min to ‘kill’ a necrotic shard solo.

It has a health pool to it that you can click on it and see at any time. By killing the undead mobs around it, you slowly destroy its health bar.

When it hits 0%, four cultists will spawn in around it to ‘repair’ it. You talk to one and use 8 necrotic stones to disrupt his concentration. This spawns a Shadow of Doom. Kill it, and it might drop one of the four chestpieces.

You can then do this three more times with each of the Cultists around the ‘destroyed’ Necrotic Shard.

THANK YOU
i was trying to attack it and didnt put 2 and 2 together

Not a problem, its not exactly intuitive, and honestly, the amount of time it takes to get a Necrotic Shard down to 0% is insane, especially for a solo player.

Its insane for a group as well tbh, because the mobs don’t spawn in fast enough, so even with 5 people it still takes 20-30 min per shard since you end up spawn camping the mobs lol.

well angerforge is dead -_- sad I xfered from Sky

Yeah, so confusing, both quest are done yet no Quartermaster lol

Stormwind and Thunderbluff (per some horde players I’ve talked with) I believe have the quartermasters. (There should be one in org, however I’ve heard some horde players say that one does nothing)

As far as the quests and how to complete them, Wowhead is 100% accurate.

every capital has a quartermaster

Ironforge doesn’t unless he isn’t sitting with the tent and the quest giver. Darn doesn’t either.

Supposedly you have to unlock the ones in the other capital cities by clearing certain numbers of Necrotic Shards. So they’re available on the bigger servers, presumably?

Or it might just be SW and Org and Blizz dropped the ball again.

oh… that would explain. They’re all available on Faerlina.

I’m on Atiesh, people have basically ran the shards dry at this stage.
On the PTR it wasn’t every location either.

Not suggesting that it shouldn’t work that way, just that it isn’t.

It doesn’t surprise me that its apparently working on Faerlina but not Atiesh. The whole event has been quite the mess

Good luck soloing that as Affl Warlock. -_-

spent 30 minutes grinding the mobs (after spending hours moving from shard to shard before understanding the mechanics) - and I got chunked each time. Im betting with some decent RNG I could down him, but after 5 attempts need to wait for my friends transfers to the dead server of AF to get it done.

For the Record Questie had the sword on the Lich in Anderhal in WP - thats why there was a lot of confusion as to WHAT to do to summon that guy,

What to do with the 20 odd purple BoP’s I cant wear? Pawn says ~80g each D/E value.
