Under Development: WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria

They’re probably seeing where the player base jumps to when something new turns up … gives them an idea of what people like to do between expansions.

Thinking on it thought, this could be the pre expansion event they usually have but designed in a different way.

Yes, that is still there, but for many they are at max character slots, so any characters they may create during this event, they may not be able to transfer them over to retail if additional slots are not made available.

It’s not a big deal for me as I am not at max characters, this is definitely something that may deter many from even trying if they simply don’t want to have a throw away character.

Yeah, true in that regards. I’ve used all my slots up but I have 5 or even 10 characters I can easily replace as they are under level 30.

edit: Hopefully they will clarify things nearer to release.

I have a question. What exactly does standard character mean? " All Remix characters created during the event will convert to a standard character to play within modern World of Warcraft at the end of the event." What would its particular ilvl and gear be?

Good question. Given how much they stress how different gear progression is going to be, it’s obvious that some gear changes are going to have to happen during the conversion. Maybe they’ll just get the stuff you’d ordinarily get from a level boost/gear update?

This looks amazing. I finally get to experience the MoP raids that I never got the chance to do.

It will become a retail character, no longer a remix character.

This we will not know until its been tested or until it’s live.

I’m hoping Blizzard didn’t change their mind on adding more character slots.

I’m very close to the character cap and don’t really have any spare slots for this event. I don’t want to delete anyone, and when I saw that more slots were potentially going to be added, I was excited as it meant I could try the event, keep characters from it, and potentially have extra character slots to utilize for future new characters.

Now I see the mention of new character slots was deleted, which is worrying me. I’m really hoping they’ll add more character slots as before. Otherwise, it’s a very frustrating thing to see dangled before me, only to be snatched away and possibly making me unable to try out this event.

Hoping they change their mind and add in some more character slots on Retail for this event. :crossed_fingers:

I also noticed that Mythic SoO isn’t mentioned on the chart showing when content is unlocked. Guessing that difficulty won’t be available?

So will players who missed the original Legendary Cloak now be able to visit Ordos with this new cloak?

Will you be able to join your guild and interact with people who aren’t doing the remix? Or is it separate like Plunder?

doesn’t say that

‘ This allows players to purchase items that were previously unable to obtain or difficult to obtain as random drops by simply spending this new currency to add them to their account’s collection.’

I’m not sure if it would be “splitting up”.

Its the end of the expansion. Content drought.
So even if Blizzard doesn’t introduce this time-limited mode,
a fair amount of players would just temporarily quit the game till the next expansion.
Said players can do something else rather than quit.
Meaning there is nothing to “split”, because the other half or whatever was planning to quit anyways. (I don’t know the ratio obviously, but I don’t think “split” suits the situation)

SOD who?! /char

It’d be nice if it did but I highly doubt it, Blizz always ends up quadrupling down on FOMO. I expect recolored mounts and armor, that’s it. I’d be glad to be wrong but I have very low expectations from Blizzard. No CM sets, no lego cloaks, no elite pvp sets, no siege of org heirlooms.

Honestly I think they’re just going to reword it. I think what it meant was that if you’re at 60 characters, your Pandamonium one will be allowed to exist because it’s a special character.

This is a neat idea, but it feels like we are fragmenting the community way too much.

Wouldn’t it be better to have a template character where you could go earn the challenge mode rewards as they were, or arena elite sets as they were, or something to that effect.

Isn’t traditional MoP classic coming shortly anyways to scratch that itch? Will there be enough nostalgia for this and MoP classic?

Who is going to be left to do S4 content? Or are we abandoning that?

Don’t get me wrong I like the idea - these would be my concerns though.

I am really excited about this!

My guild doesn’t, though. And Plunderstorm was not kind to our chattering. We’d get the comment of, “I need to go work on Plunderstorm,” then suddenly guild chat went from lively to dead. And they weren’t even happy about working on Plunderstorm. lol

Our guild always has stuff to do. There’s no such thing as lulls and content droughts for us, because we find things to do. Not everyone is a fan of Mists and we don’t know how gameplay works yet with groups. So we have to wait and see and hope for the best. :slightly_smiling_face:

Aside from that though, if someone’s at the character limit, that’s going to cause problems when it comes time to convert them to a regular retail character at the end of the event. And that’s just if someone’s only interested in making a single character for the event! What if they want to make a bunch?
