Undead/Void elf paladins when

I have nothing against the creativity and freedom by itself. But if someone wants a “different game”, go play a different game.
As they decided to make this game a “one fits all” style, I went play a different game.

But… we have High elves… they added the high elf customisation options to let people play a high elf if they want to… And Dark rangers we got those too the exact same way.

I don’t understand why blizz just doesn’t make the elves like the Pandaren/drackthyr:

make your elf and decide which side you choose after a quick little BC scenario of the elves getting borked over by the alliance and kael’thelas

Never.

Both races have serious lore conflicts that would make access to the Paladin class impossible.

And yes, I am aware that there are a few undead Paladin NPCs that exist, most notably Sir Zeliek, but all examples of undead paladins that exist in the game are those that do not have a choice on whether or not they want to use the light. Given what light usage does to Forsaken, there are very few Forsaken who are willing to use it.

I don’t really have an argument against but I can’t help but wonder why you guys fixate on the few combos that make absolutely no sense.

the thing is it can it does make sense, it has been discussed in this thread earlier.

Compared to every other combo? Nope. This is by far the most convoluted to explain, particularly for void elf.

Not really.

Have em use the void to do the same thing in the lore.

Blizzard already changes spells for shadow priests. So they seem to be able to do exactly what many have been suggesting. A class skin version would just be applied like glyphs are.

And as a class skin it opens that door for every race able to use it.

By extension it would open the door for many class skins.

Indeed, there are 2 ways to go about this lore-wise:

1)Have every race have their cultural “belief” be a channel for pally power.

2)OR just have the light be available to any being that believes in it devoutly.

Honestly, I like this route the most. Elune has shown to empower her warriors, why can’t that be the light for Night Elves? Tauren use An’she, Zandalari presumably use Loa.
I think it’d be a great implementation for opening up Paladins, as they’re basically a fine mix of War/Priest.

I’d be okay with undead paladins. Void Elves were a mistake though. They should have just made high elves from the start. The whole void elf schtick is silly at best.

The good old “but shadow priests”! Yes, yes, let’s have a void based character not be shadow priest that uses void because of the other specs or better yet, have void priest be locked to shadow spec and not to any other.

Having holy on a void character because it would be ridiculous to lock them to one spec is one thing.

Having them be filled with light with every spells using holy is something else.

More importantly than that, to even exist in the first place they have to ignore the key interaction between the light’s power and undead beings. That being the light burns undead, even when used with benevolent intentions. Healing an undead target has been described as effectively cauterization rather than actually healing them.

And Zeliek in particular breaks another rule about the light, that it answers the call of those who have faith in their own actions(the stated reason for the scarlet crusade being able to use the light despite being evil). Zeliek, being controlled, did not believe in the actions he was being forced into as a Horseman and shouldn’t have been able to call the light at all.

Already explained why it will not happen.

Void / undead cannot infuse light. They can become priests, tho, which they use Light in a different way.

Lore guy, I summon you. Please explain to him why he’s wrong.

So you don’t know it yourself and are begging others to come in to help you? how pathetic.

Lore explains it very well and I am not in the mood of writing a bible just for you to disregard it with headcanon and a puerile attitude

Bingo.

Give Pandaren DH.

There was a Pandaren Monk who said “I always wanted to be a Demon Hunter” it’s there, I saw it, make it happen Blizzard. Give us tiny wings as well.

Ah, yes. The ignore what the person said because I’m unable to grasp the concept of a void based paladin and pretend the shadow priest doing the paladin thing is using the light.

Undead can become priests and use the light, but it takes an incredible amount of willpower to do so (far more than any other race) due to the effects if has on their bodies, which is far more than just burning them.

Void Elves are all canonically Shadow Priests, they cannot wield the light at all. Yes, in-game you can pick holy and disc specs, but that’s simply because Blizzard didn’t feel like it was fair to have specs restricted by race.
