Just listened to this conversation. Sounds to me like Blizz justifying the lore to create Undead Paladins:
Of course.
This is a quest to get that appearance of red eyes?
What’s it called and where does it start?
Is it account wide or per character?
The quest starts in Oribos from Calia. It’s account wide for the appearance unlock.
Thank you Thallia!
Any time! <3
It’s about damn time.
They didn’t even need to do this to justify them, but now that it is here, there is no excuse
I mean that argument can be used for Night Elf paladins too.
yes it can,
they should be here too,
I hate all of the class restrictions on principle
I’m OK with some of them but certain ones make no sense.
Doesn’t the new options also apply to undead Druids who are in the same boat w people wanting explanations?
Hope so. Horde needs a paladin race I actually care to play.
no Cows or Trolls?
Lorelol.
Whatever. A grey-nipped robot tried to snap his fingers to defeat giant space worms so the lore is largely a joke in the aggregate. As long as Blizzard still puts out fun self-contained lore modules I guess it is fine.
Not a fan of those races, or blood elves
yeah I guessed blood elves weren’t on the table.
Our Druids on this planet are linked to the Emerald Dream. I’m not sure how the dead humans of Lordaeron suddenly become Druids.
Well Kul Tiran druids practice death magic connected to Thros, and people have using that as the reason that the Undead can be druids. Which is a massive stretch.
I get the feeling it’s not going to be the “undead” that people want, though. In general, the people asking for this want a Forsaken, rotting corpse Paladin. To me, this is suggesting the possibility of more Light raised undead like Calia. And honestly, I don’t think I’m going to like whatever motivation they come up with to justify raising a bunch of people back who probably didn’t ask for it.
It sounds like a way to introduce Light Necromancy as a concept, since the old necromancy related to Death magic causes issues when using light magic like the priest undeads that on lore there’s references of using light hurting them.
It sounds like a way to introduce future undead raised by the light, since we don’t have Valkyr anymore or way to reproduce and expand the race, maybe a way to introduce Undead that chose to resurrect once they die in combat but similar to the lightforge draenei, on this case necromancy by a Naru…
