I was just told that all servers have the same rotation and Storm should be up next. Let’s cross our fingers, everyone!
The drop rates were pretty bad the 1st couple of days for me, but late in the day on the 2nd day of the event they started dropping pretty frequently. I got 5 of the water ones in a row. I finished up early and farmed enough essences to get the armor sets and regent bags for all of my maxed characters. I knew darn well that I wasn’t gonna have a whole lot of time to play this past week because of family obligations. The storm one was the hardest for me, took 5 tries to get that one. The Earth Boss seemed to be the one that spawned the most frequently while I was doing the event stuff.
So next time blizzard, a good example is, let all four bosses or three (or whatever it is) be up in the same spot and drop the stuff every time. Let ppl bang it out in an hour or so.
Didn’t take skill and was fun. Just get rid of the RNG and it woulda been lovely
That’s a bit reductionist, don’t you think? The content is available up until a certain date, and if someone wants to spend the entire last 24 hours of that period online grinding it out, who are you to say that’s the wrong way to play?
The RNG programming is bad in general, but in this case it does seem that storm is weighted somehow differently and it’s causing folks problems. I ended up here after searching for why the heck storm isn’t popping on my server… it’s not in folks’ imaginations. Blizzard did indeed mess something up here.
There was originally a 4th spawn site in the Tirisfal Glades on the PTR but it didn’t really play well with all the BFA-relating phasing going on there.
(though that on its own doesn’t explain why the rotation doesn’t seem to bring each elemental around to the other sites more evenly)
Make sure you check all the possible locations because the elements aren’t always the same if different zones.
Unless the map is lying to us, we are.
Yup, no trinket for me. Even killed the storm a few times but never got the drop. Also got multiples of the other three… oh well
It’s neither of those things. Those people are just unlucky. Should all four have been up at the same time? Probably. Are they? Nope. Did you have enough time to get the trinket and the FoS? Yes. Yes everyone did.
they weren’t saying that was a wrong way to play, they were saying that its the wrong way to play if you are going to complain about not being able to complete it, saying they were screwed, calling people shills, whiteknight namecalling, saying people are foaming at the mouth, displaying lots of toxic behavior, when it was obviously a limited time event. they had two weeks.
No, you feel he has a lower spawn rate compared to the others. Until you can prove empirical evidence otherwise. There were days where I was doing the slow method of getting the pieces and he spawned back to back over a four hour period.
Has everyone been given the same amount of time? Yes. Does everyone have the same amount of time? No. Some people can’t play as much as others and when they do the particular one they need isn’t up.
I’m basically saying the same thing to you in so many different ways to try and get you to understand. The rotation is what is wrong. Not the time people have been given to get the event done.
If we had four spawns up at the same time, all the time, (which would be nice) they’d probably have given each of them a daily loot lockout instead of the infinite loot drops they actually had. If Blizzard didn’t want us trying to earn the trinket and the achievement, we would have been mailed it or have received it on log on. Which, going to be honest, I’m expecting someone in this thread to non-ironically say it should have been that way.
Sucks you were out of town and sucks you didn’t know you could chain kill him with group finder. You still have a little time left, so I guess good luck. If luck doesn’t go your way, well, that sucks, but it’s nothing dire you’re missing out on in the end, like a mount or an exclusive transmog or a pet.
End of the day, you needing to be out of town was more important.
Did you miss the part where I mentioned very explicitly that I monitored every spawn over a 20 hour period (so 20 chances for storm, but only one success)? If it were truly a 25% chance for each element, such a phenomenon only has about a 0.3% chance of occurring (i.e. about the same chance as the MoP world boss mounts BEFORE THE DROP RATE INCREASE).
There’s your math. So now, before some Blizzard shill comes to their defense about this nonsense, I expect at least as good of data as mine (so none of this bull about “oh, I feel like it spawned 30x yesterday”).
As bad as shadowland’s was tho, wasn’t that pre patch event more fun? It was to me.
im randomly harping on SL pre patch now btw
Oh, look, you came back to troll some more. How nice.
When you speak truth like this you will get push back but it feels gud, doesn’t it?!
Then they would have to fill the pre-patch event with more content, taking time away from other things. Because there’s no way in the Maw they’re making a two week event you can finish in less than a hour.
Game needs so much help. It’s disheartening when I think about it.
Pre patch should be around an hour to complete imo for something like the trinket.
It’s the “wrong way to play” when they’re complaining they’re getting screwed by RNG while trying to complete a time limited event with as little time as possible to play it, to combat said RNG.
Also the fact that so far, at least half the people complaining about the event have been toxic, out right aggressive and outright insultory in a personal manner. I’ve got no sympathy for them.
And yes, biases are generally in people’s imaginations. There are plenty of people in this thread alone who mentioned they had no issues getting the trinket with time to spare. They keep missing out on the storm one being up, so in their heads, it has a lower weighted spawn rate, because that can be the only explanation for them not having it.
