Unbridled Storm Lord

won’t deny that. doesn’t change that this was something announced weeks ago and everyone who read about it should have known that going in.

if someone is going off because they went in late or didn’t have the time to ensure they got something when RNG is literally the way it is designed then i have no sympathies.

Instead they should be complaining how the people who got tons of extras of all four over the event (like myself) were literally unable to do anything with them aside from give them away right then and there (and sometimes even that didnt work properly). Anything else? this is no different than the legion pocket spreader or any other event’s ‘chase’ item

The first two days of the event were so laggy and the boss died so quickly that across all my attempts I tagged one boss. So I let it cool off for a bit and did other things. Not the first time I’ve done something like that for content in WoW.

Not sure how trying for the past five days now is “last minute”. Especially when people here defending the system are saying it only took them a few rotations total. Some even in a single day. There hasn’t even been a storm in what? 36 hours now? And it was during a time when most people would be asleep. I could understand if people waited until the last handful of swaps… but days at a time with no storm? C’mon.

Fire, Earth and Water again

So I have been out of town on a second honeymoon for almost all the pre-patch. I tried to get the achievement from Thursday until today and never saw him spawn. I thought I was just unlucky but looks like something prevents him from spawning often.

I’m more upset that the two other times that the Storm event appeared in the last week and a half, it crashed my computer due to a faulty power setting.

So it appeared Saturday evening/Sunday Morning and we beat the Lord four times – no trinket piece, and the event timed out during the fifth spawn.

So please do NOT tell me I ‘waited until last minute’.

Do not presume.

Sigh - oh well - it’s only a trinket = honestly I don’t use Heirlooms all that much - but that being said - it is too bad they can’t fix this issue.
I expect they are sitting in their cubicles laughing at us. I am pretty sure they don’t’ even like the player base all that much.

It’s more than a trinket, it’s an Achievement/Feat of Strength.

Oops = my bad - forgot about that part. I hate missing achieves. :frowning:

that it effectively last minute on an RNG system… remember there is literally like 10 spawns a day. You could have also used the LFG tool to kill the boss dozens of times in a row when it was up

you had two weeks to do it. complain that the things were account bound and you whiffed on the tool

Great assumptions here. Not everyone reads pre-patch notes, and someone might have just logged on today to get the pre-patch stuff done.

I have got no sympathies for terrible systems which put in completely nonsensical layers on RNG on something which could have easily been implemented in a cycle, or for people who defend such systems tbh.

It is always in your best interest to read the patch notes. It has been that way for literally 18 years now. It is not my fault that the information is avialiable and people dont want to look it up on their own.

Also if they wanna get the prepatch done in one day (and didn’t read the notes) and expects it to be done in one day I have zero sympathies Edit : this was a two week long event

A two week long event that anyone with an equal number of brain cells would have assumed they could do it in a day. Especially seeing that many people DID. And people would still be able to if there wasn’t obviously a problem with the spawn rate.

If this is truly a miraculous case of bad RNG then there should have been a fail safe. One element doesn’t spawn all day? Increase its chance every time. This didn’t even need to be an RNG thing.

I care but I don’t.

It’s still complete crap it never spawned the last day.

But why?
All you need to do is beat 4 elemental lords that spawn every 3 hours and do some dungeon once. Easy enough that you can do it in a single day.
Hey, it’s been water, fire and earth almost all day, people that started playing TODAY already got the essences they need to make the trinket (except the storm essence)
But the patch note didn’t specify that one of those elemental has a lower spawn chance than the rest.

the patch notes literally state that they randomly spawn at each node. That means that your mileage may vary. Did you know that my friend who played from mists to BFA just came back literally got invincible on his very first ICC run ever? Edit : I hate him for that. I have been farming that mount for months now

You just love to cause drama don’t you? (;

oh sure, by randomly they meant 33% for everything but storm and just 1% for storm
Did you know that we’re talking about an event that’s going away forever and not some mount that you can farm for years and was made that way so you waste your time farming it?

lil bit. I feel that these people are complaining just to complain at this point though and it’s incredibly short sighted.

Anything that is limited time in wow should be done at the earliest convenient time and people trying to complete it within the last quarter are literally asking for RNG to screw them.

sure if you take the last two days of spawns into consideration that is what it was. in the past two weeks? it probably wound up like 27/26/27/20 or something inane like that. RNG can be set to 25 across the board and when it plays out the mileage will vary

You’re missing the point. Many of us have been watching spawns constantly and may have even gotten some kills in, the drop rate is low on top of the spawn rate being incredibly low it seems. I’m just annoyed by it.

roughly 30% according to wowhead. so no, not really low. uncommon at most. I feel bad to the people who only killed 5 bosses a rotation and didnt get it. I feel bad that they didnt think to shard hop and chain bosses during the entire rotation anyway shrug
