I dont have them and still have done the battle pets without an issue. Maybe read beyond 1 guide or a couple of comments so you see recomendations with other pets?

OP, it’s the meta of the Naz’jatar and Mechagon pet battles.
Just about everything in Naz’jatar is aquatic, hits like a truck, and has damage reduction, so of course you’re going to want to throw a flying pet with multiple attacks per round at it. In Mechagon, just about everything is mechanical, hits like a truck, and has damage reduction, so guess what, multiple attacks per round.
Seriously, they’re not incredibly challenging, but I’m not complaining - I’m still working on the Family Battler series.
Valk and Ikky are one team. They don’t always wtfpwn the fight, that’s why you should have other pets.
Like one last night - can’t remember which (in Naz somewhere) but it healed to full when one of your pets died (lol Valk’s move) so had to switch to a all mech team to keep them alive. That was further down in the guide (that I look up when my “main bfa team” phails.
Get Rematch and save your teams. Of course we want to get thru the pet WQs as quickly as possible but you should be a little organized and have enough pet resources to switch it up if you need.
There are any number of combinations to beat these pets, you have just chosen to use those two.

Since its sunday, lets complain about lil’bling, because he can beat one of those legendary pets in two turns lol.
It’s one strategy but definitely not required.

You’re free to use other pets if you want.
However, as someone who’s not fond of pet battles and just wants to finish the daily for rep, there’s no need to change it.
