You are acting like this is a single player game. Everything impacts everyone else.
Yes and I saw how its value was artificially inflated just because it was made unavailable. Doesnât need to be repeated, and I wouldnât care if they had removed them originally tbh.
In what way does me having an unarmored mount effect you in any way⌠unless you are a bitter and entitled owner of one in retail who is sadly attempting to keep them out of classic in some vain attempt to feel important.
Truly pathetic
If someone already has the mount in retail, which they acquired in actual classic, congratulations on having one of the best mounts ever created!
Now, onto my rant.
I donât think there should be a connection between available mounts in retail (BFA), and wow classic. Therefore, if they make unarmored mounts return to classic, you should not also have that mount in BFA, so you can keep your OG mount trophy.
The fact you donât want unarmored mounts to be available to players looking for the classic experience is clearly based on your desire to feel superior to these players because you have it and they donât. There is zero other reason for you to be against Blizzardâs implementation of the new mounts, especially since you already have one yourself.
Letâs not forget that cosmetic items / collecting mounts + gear for RP reasons has been around since the beginning of this game. It was xmog before xmog was a thing, and it had more value than current day xmog in retail. The ability to ride a mount at a fast speed is a luxury in classic that not all players will be able to afford. Why not give a short window of time for the truly dedicated to purchase one of these limited unarmored mounts? After all, it is the classic way!
It should be mentioned that various forms of the unarmored white steed can be found throughout the world. A few notable ones are in Goldshire and Stormwind. Clearly the models are in the databaseâŚjust give us access to them, it makes no sense.
They have their value inflated just by virtue of being removed. Everything that does or does not exist in the game effects everyone else. Just like the pro flight people who claim âif you dont want to fly just dontâ, they ignore the value of flight and how it magnifies the effectiveness of everything you do. With these mounts, they would have to deal with all of the people freaking out who did not happen to get them. And then it leads directly to what this whole thread is. A bunch of people who will never agree on the optimal solution. You either have them in forever and completely go against what was intended. Or you limit it and turn it into an artificial time limited reward that was never intended to have value.
Just like they arenât going to incrementally patch in different classes being overpowered for certain patches, they arenât going to put these in only to become valued in a way they were never intended to. And all the better for it.
Find me evidence of blizzard saying that these mounts were place holders, find me evidence that proves that they were implemented with the intention of eventually being removed. Then I will believe you.
They werenât, people complained and blizzard responded by adding in new mounts and removing the ability to purchase the old ones from the vendor. Your argument is that âblizzard giving into players is what led us to retail wowâ⌠yet the entire reason for the mounts being removed originally was the playerbase complaining and blizzard giving into their request.
The evidence is clear by how they acted. They removed them, and enticed players to get rid of them by trading them in. Pretty simple.
They never announced they were removing them⌠they only stated that there were new mounts available and you could trade in an old one for a new one. Again, they never said they were being removed.
Furthermore⌠why did they allow people to continue to sell these mounts until WotLk and cata? Why did they allow people who had them previously keep them if they wanted them removed so badly?
Blizzard made a mistake, they can rectify that mistake now and I hope they do.
We already have a definitive answer from Blizzard. You just do not that answer.
Not a definitive answer, we got a half a** not well thought out answer through a 3rd party interview. Show me a blue post.
Itâs clearly evident that we have put more thought into this and itâs effects than blizzard has. Because we care more than blizzard does.
Itâs laughable⌠I remember when they announced they were doing classic and one of the guys on stage said âthey can grind like we didâ⌠what? Who do you think your audience is? We did grind⌠we played vanilla⌠and then they come out and say âwe donât want people to rush through leveling to get theseââŚ
What??? Thatâs literally a complete contradiction of thought. Maybe blizzard should handle their PR better and actually announce things/ communicate with their playerbase.
Iâll pick any part of your so called reasoning that I desire. I find it flawed.
Tough luck if you donât like that.
You donât get to decide what I spend my time on kiddo.
FOR THE MOUNTS!
Did Blizzard not state that the unarmored mounts would not be in Classic?
That sounds pretty definitive to me.
You may not like that answer or agree with their reason, but that does make the answer any less definitive.
Link where they stated this. Oh thatâs right, they didnât.
Itâs a 13 post alt. One of the contrarians is shuffling.
And blizzard has never changed their mind about anything? Why are you so adamant about getting us to stop asking for something we want in a forum which literally asks players to put forth their requests and grievances?
This is classic discussion, we are discussing the implementation of unarmored mounts.
Did Blizzard not also state that Classic wouldnât happen?
Come on, Fesz. At least unarmored mounts were in Vanilla. Itâs not the same as Guild Banks, flying or transmog.
You are the one who said you would continue to complain until Blizzard gave us a definitive answer, thus implying that you would stop once we got that definitive answer.
I pointed out that we already had that definitive answer, but you are still complaining.
It seems that what you really meant was that you will continue to complain until Blizzard caves and gives you that shiny which you so desperately want.
A definitive answer from blizzard themselves⌠not from some dev in a wowhead interview where he essentially said âwe spent 30 seconds talking about the mounts and decided not to add them because [insert non legitimate reason] ⌠thatâs how I like to playâ
Youâre absolutely wrong and any moderator will easily be able to confirm that (not that they will). Firstly, I have been playing this game since April 2005. This is not an alt, this character was built for the level 39 twink bracket back in TBC and has not been played since then. I am posting in the WoW Classic forums now, despite never posting before because I love Classic and enjoy Classic.
The maturity level is quite pitiful here, however. You being one of them.
