Unable to Purchase a Subscription with a Gift Code

Hello… I was given a gift code for Blizzard which I redeemed and now shows as a balance in my account, yet I am unable to use it for a game subscription. When I tried to make a purchase, it said it may take 10 minutes or more. Well… It’s been an hour and a half! What gives? So the gift given to me, I cannot use even though the balance shows in my account? Thank you for your help.

A subscription cannot be purchased with Blizzard Balance. BUT - you can buy a 60 day block of time. Subscriptions require a form of payment that can be billed each month, such as credit or debit cards. Since Blizzard Balance is a finite resource, it isn’t valid for subscriptions.

No, you cannot buy a single month’s block of game time, it is only available in 60-day blocks. Please also make sure there is enough Blizzard Balance available to cover any taxes that are added.

At the risk of sounding dumb, what is a 60-day block of time as opposed to a 90-day/30-day/180-day subscription?

EDIT: Oh my… I only saw the first portion of your post. Thank you for that… will check out the 60-day block!

It’s not a dumb thing at all - and no worries! You are not the first person who has come here wondering about the same thing.

They used to offer time blocks in 30 day increments, but they changed that several years ago to now only offer 60 day blocks.

If you’re interested in just playing for a month at a time and a friend is wanting to gift you a month - they can give you the gold to purchase a token that you can then convert into a month’s game time.
