Unable to open mail on upgraded char without WoW crashing

I logged an old character and chose the option to get her new gear. When I went to the mailbox to retrieve the old items, WoW crashed with an out of bounds memory error. Specifically:
Exception: ACCESS_VIOLATION - The instruction at “0x00007ff6575172bf” referenced memory at “0x0000000000000a”
The memory could not be “read”
ProcessID: 18128
ThreadID: 18132

I restarted the PC (in case it was a memory leak, as my character had, prior to that, been lagging/walking erratically). Logged in, then tried to open the mail again. Crashed again.

Edit: Note this didn’t happen on any other character, so I’m wondering if it’s a specific item in her mailbox that’s causing it?
