Hey all,
We noticed a bit of a dip for folks trying to connect to World of Warcraft. You may be seeing Unable to log in, or character not found, etc…
We’re looking into it and I’ll try to provide any updates I can as I learn more.
Game randomly closed on me and said it was updating World of Warcraft: Shadowlands then went back to just an Update button. Clicking Update fails. Can’t get the game back open now.
Sounds like everyone had an issue where their game force closed and are now stuck. Weirdest server crash I’ve ever experienced.

I would log out and back in the launcher that should restart it.
Doesn’t work. My characters aren’t even listed. Servers are online, but can’t order by name. Also can’t find Stormrage on the realmlist.

I tried restarting the launcher and that did not work for me.
For what it is worth Vrak, after you posted this I tried to log on. I hung on the Character screen for a minute or so, but then my toons populated. I am now attempting to log into the game. I will update this post with what happens just to give you a data point, but my login bar is about 95% full atm
Edit: Character not found. At least all data helps right? Thanks for the update though my Centaurian friend.
similar issue, except I was able to get to my character list but when I try to log into one of my toons it kicks me back to the character list with a “character not found” message, event though all my characters are listed there

Just logged on. Everything seems fine so far. Will update if anything changes. Stormrage btw.
Can confirm everything is currently fine and dandy on WRA. Shall update if anything changes.
My game quit itself. That’s creepy. Why would it do that?
yeah, I was just able to get back in, appears to be a hit or miss type of issue, sometimes you get through, sometimes you get denied, hopefully Blizz can pinpoint the issue quickly
It looks to me like someone at Blizzard accidentally pushed the Shadowlands PTR to live.
I’m able to log in now, but I was in the middle of a Horrific Vision and lost my vessel. Solo two mask run, god this is straight up annoying. I couldn’t even log in to the site until now. I want my vessel back, all I got was some mementos, couldn’t even get my quest items for cloak.
Thank you. ive been having issues all day. i also have the same “update” thing and nothing happens. says i 'lost a file"
Fug, I’d recommend posting what details you can in our Technical Support forum so the folks there can help troubleshoot.

Alright, it looks like the overall issue has been resolved, but our techs continue to look into the issue to hopefully prevent it from happening again.
