Unable to download WoW Classic after adding subscription

Good morning!
It is 8/11 and I also do not get the option to download classic and have a current subscription. I have tried ever since the stress test launched on Thursday. With name reservations starting tomorrow, I would think I should be able to download the game at this point so I can log in to reserve my name. Anyone else experiencing this issue??

You do not appear to have an active subscription. I see that you attempted to update your subscription on the 10th but that has not yet been successful. This can be the result of a number of different issues but I do see that the last time your account attempted to create a subscription was last year and that failed as well.

You may want to double check your transaction, and/or the credit card you’re using. I do believe the status you’re seeing right now may be a ‘grace period’ while the system attempts to process your transaction but it may likely fail given the previous attempt was unsuccessful as well.

My sub does work (it was a game card, it can’t fail), I’ve played the game since last night. However, I was able to get Classic to download by running the Battle Of Azeroth Beta launcher from last year, this caused a forced update to battle.net and Classic showed up. I would suggest you all make that a blue post to cut down on the number of folks having an issue.

Ah ha! I did overlook a game card - sorry!

Checking for updates to the Blizzard launcher is standard troubleshooting for any installation/patching issue. We already have instructions on our support website:

I’m glad you were able to get the client installed, thanks for following up here!

i have the same problem but i dont find that launcher like you did i.
i dont see the wow classic option

Did you try the troubleshooting I linked in my previous post Elgronez? You may have an out of date launcher.

i just did i even delete the folder

When you open your launcher, click on the Blizzard logo in the top left corner and go to “Settings”.
You’ll see a list of categories on the left side, and at the very bottom of this list will be a version number for the launcher (1.xx.x.xxxxx). What does your version number say?

1.12.4.10549

Ok, yea your launcher is several versions out of date. The current live version is 1.15.1.11346 (beta launcher version is 1.15.1.11347). Complete the uninstall steps again using these steps:

Use the link in Step 6 to reinstall the launcher (don’t use any files you already have on your computer).

My classic Launches just fine but it say that it cannot find my account. WOW519003314. I have an active sub and have been playing for over a month.

You need to select Classic on the account that is active.

Same boat for me. Now have an active subscription, and have entered and played a bit of BFA.

  • Restarted Bnet launcher.
  • Version is 1.15.1.11346
  • Followed the steps posted in the link Kalviery posted earlier, including deleting
    Bnet tools.
  • Reinstalled, current version is still 1.15.1.11346
    Still no classic client
Any ideas/tips? Would really like to get this figured out before name reservations go live.

Looks like your subscription was added today. I can’t say specifically, but it may take some time for all of the back end systems involved in this to catch up to the change in your account status.

Appreciate the quick response. By chance, do you know if I will have to download the Classic client to create a character today?

hmm, that’s rough. Hope the client appears in time I guess :c

Yea, you’ll need the client in order to access the Classic realms where the characters will be created.

Just checking, where are you looking for the client? There are two pull-down menus above the Play button when you select World of Warcraft, and the left menu is how you select World of Warcraft Classic vs World of Warcraft.
