I’ve experienced everything since original open beta for vanilla. Even that wasn’t this bad.
A prime example: I was able to make a character.
So, the comments letting others know they are having the same issue isn’t unwarranted. Nor is it trolling.

i finally got my account data to copy, but it seems the general consensus is that template characters and copying characters is broken. Yeah i really want to play through 80 levels to test the stuff we’re supposed to be testing. also it seems some characters don’t get the housing quest. the character i took to exiles reach was able to do it but the haranir i made after getting my account data to copy never got the quest. 10/10 Bliz, way to bone it up.

Copy and template fail for me too. Just another tally for your metrics.
Can’t make a template character or copy one over either. The fact that they didn’t divide us up into waves that could start accessing the beta rather than everyone all at once trying to cram through the door together surprises me. Pretty sure we had similar servers on fire type issues with the MOP beta too.
if somebody charged you money for beta access, you should report it to blizzard
tried to copy multiple characters, copy fail. Tried to make template ones, creation failed. Noticed the female Haranirs hair texture is messed up too on character creation.
Oh well back to remix I guess
i copied two characters and created one from template. it’s slow due to heavy load but it does work. be patient!
copying characters and creating template characters is a thing that’s done for every single alpha, beta, and PTR that’s existed in the last two decades of wow. That Blizz still screws this up so painfully is such a sad testament to how the company is run. I mean, way to seriously soil the pants during a great potential opportunity for positive hype.

been trying for 2 hours. barely got the account data copy to work, it crashed to desktop half way through but it registered. still can’t get a copy or template to work
BLIZZARD charged money for Beta access by adding it to a tier of the Prepurchase. This resulted in everyone and their Vulpera running into the servers like a mack truck.
Billion Dollar Company should have seen this coming.

Did anyone bother reading the beta post regarding characters? I mean it is right on the front of the beta forum. Maybe read the first sentence at least?

The testing we have in common. Don’t start pointing fingers. I understand that the servers are getting people frustrated due to how expensive the expansion was, however vanilla beta and Midnight beta is about a decade separate from each other and the technology is a little more advanced. Although they are using probably the same engine that they used back in vanilla with some tweaks. Moving and restructuring the program data can be a little tricky, especially due to them having housing available for players. Housing in general… Is unknown territory, and a blizzard first in terms of adding something new to the game VIA landscape/terrain, all of it is probably customizable. I’m excited to check it out!
