Unable to continue quest chain - GM response unhelpful

I have been going through the Mist of Pandaria quest lines since that’s the one expansion I missed and haven’t caught back up on.

In the Dread Waste zone there’s a quest called “Crime and Punishment” that is picked up in Amberglow Hollow…usually. If the quest giver, Kor’ik, is revealed as the traitor in another quest line before this quest is completed, then the quest can’t be turned in. I did not yet have Crime and Punishment in my quest logs when I completed the other storyline, and the replacement quest giver, Zer’ik, is also not in the cave.

I do not have Crime and Punishment in my quest log, and cannot abandon it to get the other quest, and Zer’ik is also not available for me to start the quest from scratch.

What Dread Wastes quests do you have in your quest log, both completed and not?

I’ve completed everything in the entire zone except for “Crime and Punishment.” I also have exalted with Klaxxi.

I’m not sure how that is possible, since Crime and Punishment is part of the questline that gatekeeps the second half of the zone.

Do you have Kaz’tik the Manipulator available for dailies at Klaxxi’vess?

Looking at your achievements, you have “Might of the Klaxxi” checked off under “Dread Haste Makes Dread Waste”. That would indicate that you have completed Crime and Punishment, and the rest of the questline after it.

If this is the case, there should be breadcrumb quests to the Sunset Brewgarden in the north and Soggy’s Gamble in the south. Perhaps you completed the breadcrumbs and have quests there to pick up.

Do you have low level quest tracking on?

I’m a little confused, Sienge. You are referring to the character you are posting on, yes? From what I can see you completed the secondary version of the Crime and Punishment quest 5 minutes after you completed Corruption Runs Deep. You also appear to have completed the quest line up through “Falling to Pieces”.

As Melaesia mentioned, you have the associated achievement. Are you looking for a different set of quests?

If this is the case, then the rest of the quest line isn’t showing up and I still can’t finish the story line. It’s the last one I have for Pandaria.

Edit: here’s the screen shot.

Which is for what quest, Sienge?

From what I can see you have a few straggler quests, but you have completed the majority of them in that area.

Maybe check out Soggy’s Gamble.

You also have a few quests locked behind other conditions. The best I can do is recommend checking out “The Empress’ Gambit” on Wowhead.

I got it figured out…eventually.

And I have checked out wowhead. Several times. I use that site a lot.

So, the map shows an exclamation point for the Crime and Punishment quest. You may need to do a full UI reset to get it to disappear. As you didn’t complete Crime and Punishment, but the replacement quest, it may not clear out properly.

Check the Sunset Brewgarden and Soggy’s Gamble with low level quest tracking on

It is possible it is simply a UI issue, but my guess is that the original version of the quest that exists before completing Corruption Runs Deep, it still visible. For that I’d submit a bug report so that our QA team can take a look.

Was this confirmed to be a UI issue? I’m also having the same problem and have tried everything mentioned here with no luck.

I’m having this problem as well, finished the entire area and got the completion achievement, finished every side quest, reached exalted with the Klaxxi and finished their storyline, but the exclamation mark for “Crime and Punishment” is still showing up in the world map as incomplete.
Could you at least let us know how you managed to fix it?

Someone on WoWhead had the following comment (if I found the right quest):

If you do not complete this quest before you do the ‘Traitor’ quest, the replacement NPC will not accept the items. You have to drop the old quests and get the new ones: [!]

That is unrelated with the issue, I already completed the quest and the entirety of the Dread Wastes, yet the exclamation mark signaling that there is an important quest avaiable is still showing up in the world map.
It’s not about not being able to complete the quest, it’s about having already completed it but the quests marker not going away.

Ah, so can you just ignore it then? I mean, if that’s all it is, you can put in a bug report to let the QA team know and then they’d have a look to see if they could replicate the issue

Yeah I could just ignore it, but a bug is a bug and it could lead to further things breaking, getting it fixed is more important.

Yes, and posting in the Bug Report forums is how to let them know you encountered it.
