Here’s a little backstory: I’m a hardcore player(unemployed no-lifer) with 4 Horde lvl 60’s and even an alliance lvl 60 coming out of WoW classic going into TBC. You can imagine I acquired quite a lot of gold having 110 days played on my main, let alone all my alts. 20k Gold to be exact, now all my friends have server transferred and Blizzard will not let me server transfer with my friends with my HARDEARNED gold!
5k limit with a server transfer? So Blizzard either forces me server transfer 4 character(which I cannot afford, I was gonna struggle eating this month if I server transferred just my main character), ORRRR Blizzard forces me to sell my gold on my current server and then rebuy it on my new server(risking my account of a ban and also the chance of losing all my LEGITAMATE gold)
I feel like Blizzard has a knife to my back and is mugging me in the streets, either I give them 120$ for server transfers or I give them my 15k gold I can’t server transfer with.
And before you suggest do some AH scouting and just buyout everything on my server and resell on the new server. 1: I don’t have the bag space for 15k in primals and other crap. 2: Why should I have to take a risk on buying/selling? I may lose thousands of gold due to fluctuating prices and the AH cut.

Better to take valuable items with you than lose the gold. I think it’s lucky they don’t force your character to transfer with just the clothes on their back.
Sorry buddy but good luck to you.

I stopped taking you serious here

I like the cut of your jib. Unemployed and poor, but still entitled. You keep doing you.

Without being mean about the stuff in your post this is the answer though.
It’s a video game man, get over it
I agree the limit is stupid/pointless but there’s an easy solution. Simply spend all your gold then resell the items on the new realm. There’s plenty of expensive weapons or recipes… this should not be hard to do.
Umm… This type of player is exactly the one to take seriously. They know more about the entire game than you likely know about the first quest in Vanilla WoW.

How does the old saying go?
Something about not putting all your eggs in one basket…
Anyone who has to preface their entire complaint by saying they’re a hardcore player - and unemployed - isn’t someone that should be taken more seriously than a casual player who pays the same sub but plays far less. Blizzard doesn’t care about hardcore players any more than their casual players.
The OP needs to re-evaluate his life if a game is taking priority over it.

He could have done this but he said he wouldn’t in the OP. He seems to have a lot of time but doesn’t want to put in effort and wants to complain instead.
There’s a lot in the post that didn’t need to be included but was for some reason and doesn’t help get empathy so I don’t know.
I suffered a tragic back injury years ago and am unable to do the things in life that I love such as snowboarding, motorbiking, dirt jumping, camping, hiking, etc… So I found joy in video games. Please stranger, tell me more about how I should live my life.

Without being mean, I think you have struggles reading the first point. 1: I don’t have the bag space for 15k in primals and other crap.
That’s why you buy things that are at obnoxious prices to burn through your gold like bis gems, recipes, the mats to max every prof if you havnt yet, blindstrike, etc.
Subby,
Add GoodWitch#11250 on BNet.
I’ll gift you one of those server transfers.
