UI element blocking my action bars

I haven’t had this issue in previous patches, and when I disabled all of my addons, this problem still happened - it’s always the same UI element blocking my action bars - the green bar over S4 S5 and S6. This bar is not visible in my UI, but it blocks access to clicking these abilities - well I can’t click through this invisible element - I can click the bottom half of the ability bar, just not the part where the element is.

To solve the issue, I went into /fstack, highlighted it, pressed CTRL then unchecked “Show”. This seems to work for about an hour or so, then randomly (or perhaps when my UI is reloaded) it re-enables itself and I have to disable it again.

Is there anyway to remove this element permanently? I can move my bars to leave a gap where that element is but it makes the UI look ugly so I would rather avoid that at all costs.

Turn off all addons and see if it’s still there.

If it’s coming back after unchecking ‘Show’ that means something is actively attempting to display it.

That’ll help discover what it is.

I’d wait until after it shows up again, first, though. So you don’t have to play without your UI setup.

It is still there, even with addons disabled. I only posted the screenshot (~https://i.imgur.com/UGP38qk.jpeg~) with ElvUI (only ElvUI) enabled to highlight where it was blocking the action bars.

Okay, stick a post-it note to the screen or something and turn off ElvUI.

The point of this exercise is to eliminate ElvUI as a potential culprit here and to see what’s under that spot with ElvUI (and everything else) off. :slight_smile:

We need an FSTACK where it’s showing up and without any addons active.

I have a suspicion it might be that tutorial frame, but I’m not entirely certain.

Yes, that is exactly what it is. The “TutroialKeyboardMouseFrame_Frame.Center” That is what I unchecked “Show” on, and that is the element that keeps popping back up (even with no addons enabled.)

I believe there’s a checkbox to turn off tutorials somewhere in the options menu.

Find that, turn them off, uncheck show and you should be good.

Okay, let me jump on a trash toon and see if I can’t replicate this. Watch this space.

Best I can guess for a fix, turn tutorials back on, log out, log in, turn them off. I think you’re stuck there, at least partly.

When I turn tutorials off, that frame doesn’t appear in FSTACK anymore.

Do you have Disable Tutorial Buttons enabled in ElvUI under /ec > General > BlizzUI Improvements?

I wasnt sure, but that is checked by default, so yes.

Last edit - this turned out to be an ElvUI error that recently got patched with ElvUI 13.16

  • Keyboard Mouse tutorial was blocking clicks in lower mid area of the screen for some characters.

Found it. December 31st patch.

Yeah, fixed. Good to know where to look, though.
