People always make predictions based on incomplete and often nonexistent evidence. They always seem to predict what they wish would happen. If their predictions are right they claim a measure of prescience. If wrong they tend to disappear for a couple of months hoping when they return every one will forget what they said. And mostly every body does. I don’t make predictions nor do I pay attention to others predictions, I wait and see.
How is that copium??
I don’t think you know what the word means.
Regardless of numbers all I said is they won’t be out until the 6th, just like the site says…
It doesnt matter what you think. You will see in time. Enjoy your failed expansion. And remember you are a valued member of the community.
I mean it’s better than phase 1 of wotlk classic was, any unbiased person would see that.
I don’t need you to like cata, my raids full.
Sod is trash.
I honestly hope you enjoy it. These are just my observastions with zero bias. Its just what is. And yeah, sod is trash.
I think anyone who likes wotlk classic would enjoy cata classic a bit more.
Dungeons are better and raids are overall better.
Original wotlk only has nostalgia because we didn’t do Naxx for the most part in vanilla but in Classic we all already did it ad nauseam.
Cata phase 1 blows wotlk classic phase 1 out of the water and you could say Ulduar and Firelands are equal or 1 slightly edges out the other in either direction, either way phase 1 and phase 2 of cata are better than WOTLK classic.
Class design is also way better.
SoD is going to recover in P4 and a lot of people who are currently playing Cata will go back to SoD.
I don’t know for sure but I don’t expect Cata raiding numbers will recover a whole lot. Maybe for a week or two until people realize how hard these bosses are and they just quit the game.
I’m sorry but there’s just no way that molten core has that kind of appeal
We will just have to agree to disagree. I consider cata the expansion that sent wow down its destructive path. The only expansion i consider worse is dragonflight.
You only have one perspective on anything.
I mean that’s fine, this isn’t original cata and all of you keep treating it like the boogieman.
Wotlk was the highlight of wow and it was a mid classic.
If you told me they are launching phase 4 with a never before seen raid I’d have a better perspective.
It’s literally a 20 man version of MC and Onyxia.
Please enlighten me on what is exciting about that?
Yay we get to go kill Lucifron for the 20000th time, I can’t wait to kill rag before sons again…yay…
None of this is new content and it’s been awhile since most Classic players have been into MC. Your sole perspective is you find everything that isn’t challenging to be boring. I believe the majority of players who play Classic do not want their BiS loot to be locked behind difficult content.
It’s just my opinion, but I’m fairly confident that we’ll see a spike in numbers and then a dropoff that doesn’t recover unless content is nerfed for Cata. We’ll see a big spike for SoD when MC and Onyxia are out and an even bigger spike in the numbers when BWL re-releases. There’s also unannounced content we have no idea about.
I can do the difficult content but I don’t find it enjoyable. I like getting a big group together and blasting through the raids as quickly as possible. That’s why I enjoyed Classic Vanilla and we were kind of a speed running/parsing guild then. Just a different kind of competitiveness that was more in the preparation rather than in managing a dozen different lazer disco light show raid bosses.
It’s all subjective. I consider WoD and BfA as far worse than Cata. I quit a few months into BfA so I don’t know if SL or DF was worse.
I mean I hope the game lives up to your expectations and you have fun.
I do agree that classic players for the most part prefer easy content and want their bis without much prog.
Which in my opinion is what cata has against it, I dont think the majority of the classic players are good enough to down the heroic raids.
Imagine believing this, 10 million people back in Cata disagree with you.
That must be after 2 million had already quit and a further million were about to.
But sure the 9 million left were willing to stick it out till mists.
Sure 2 million from the peak of wow, which actually was on cata launch, it was 9 million 12 months into dragon soul, don’t try and twist it around m8.
Heres some numbers for you
Cata
Q1 - 12
Q1 - 11.4
Q2 - 11.1
Q3 - 10.3
Q4 - 10.2
Q1 - 10.2

MOP

I leveled 2 chars to 85 and did both raids primarily on normal. Honestly I’m already over it. mop waiting room
Showing that other expansions after Cata also lost subs isn’t making the point you think it is.
