Uh Kael'thas voice actor replaced?

Really bad pick and bad move on your part blizzard. Sounds like you put a gun to the guy’s head when he’s trying to read the lines.

That was an iconic voice, he sounded like a villain too. Just why?

I got into this game specifically because I liked that character, I always thought it was really cool. It even was my motivation to level a warlock and play all these years.

Screw you Blizzard, I hope you get replaced too.

Old VA got outed as a Sex Pest.

So they salted the earth is my guess.

I hate voice actors who add a grunting ehhhh noise to every word, because they saw a Batman movie a few decades ago and that’s how every voice should sound now.

But that’s just me, I like voice actors with talent and variance… maybe I’m crazy.

Breaking news, the voice actor for master chief and arthas were at a bar and they looked a lady funny. Crucifixions at 3pm tomorrow.

Ultimately it’s irrelevant what anyone here thinks about the situation.

Blizzard owns the Warcraft IP and the rights to the Kael’thas character, they decide who gets to voice him. Clearly they decided that they didn’t want to risk being tied to someone who may be found guilty of sexual assault and the grooming of minors, so they’ve replaced his lines with someone who doesn’t have a controversial background.

Whether or not the man is guilty is a matter for the courts. Blizzard doesn’t have to prove guilt to distance themself from a potential sexual deviant.

Well that’s it, then.
Make ready for prison, Shimaala.

Everyone needs to back off of Shimaala right now.

What many of you are doing is a gross violation of the Terms of Service, no one deserves this type of BS, so cut it out and behave yourselves. Act like the adults you are instead of children. Shimaala has a different opinion than many of you. That’s fine. Accept that and move on and don’t go down the personal attack route because they say something you don’t agree with.

I will never understand cancel culture, or at least never understand the understanding I have of it.

I wouldn’t care if I found out my favorite voice actor, artist, singer, actor, etc. ended up getting charged with murder. If they’re doing a great job at their work, part of their “punishment” for their bad/evil deed shouldn’t involve them losing their job/fans especially if it’s all allegation and zero proof.

That’s gonna be hard to prove considering my abysmal record of not being able to get to cons any time I tried.

First was a schedule mismatch, then incliment weather. then a global pandemic.

If I try a 4th time It’s gonna be a metor or an alien invasion I swear.

That and the dialogue that was replaced was already done and paid for so like, he’s not exactly being robbed of dollars.

Adults make jokes as well.

Hate to break it to ya but cancel culture has been around since the cavemen days. Just read through christian history (since its fairly well documented) if you want to ‘understand’ it.

Only difference now is that it’s on a more regional/global scale instead of locally due to the internet.

I believe that was the entire point: it is difficult to prove, but the mere mention of such things can ruin someone’s life.

Why yes my educated friend, in fact there may be an inherent risk for voicing your opinion. Others might not agree! You may even make a fool of yourself! But sometimes it’s worth the risk of others disapproval.

I never said it was new. What I am saying is that it’s stupid.

It’s not a joke to accuse someone of sexual assault (even in passing) nor is it a joke to post a video from a video game that features dialogue that tells someone that they ‘belong on a cross’.

The pre-requisit of a joke is that it be funny. None of this is funny.

Already done.

What I find interesting is that he acts as a parent/moderator here, yet I have seen him go after people in other threads in the past. The irony.

Ish.

It can ruin a rando’s life but then you have people like Prince Andrew.

Things that have taken the form of “cancel culture” will always favour the powerful. But even then, there are cases like where Kesha tired to break from her producer.

Humans have pattern recognition brains.

You see enough people turn out to to have abused people in their middling forms of power, it stops being suprising when yet another one rears their head.

the fact that someone brought up Vic when his defense case absolutely bombed is just indicative that people who espouse COURTS AND RECORDS!! will just as soon go back to Their Feelings when it’s their Fav’s turn on the Block

The lesson is to never get attached to celebrities.
