Seriously: if they just gave male draenei (and Lightforged, by extension) a few softer face options (draenei had some softer face options at introduction), I’d be happy. And I suppose the same goes for the rest, as well. (Especially humans. Both types.)
Have you considered that you might, in fact, be queer? Not finding things attractive that society says your assigned sex is “supposed” to find attractive is one of the big red flags for us LGTBQ folks.
this is the way
I hate how ALL the males have bad postures
They either hunch, or stand with their knees slightly bent, or lean to one side.
Why can no one (besides humans) stand up straight??
I’ve been out for years; I play the game for fun, not to leer at my characters. And, as far as I’m concerned: the design philosophy (far from peculiar to this game) that says “if a being is alien or fantastical, the masc model has to emphasize that even to the point of grotesquerie, while the fem model has to emphasize femininity even at the expense of weirdness” has long since gotten old.
Hell, I play what’s widely considered the most fanservicey model in the game; and I wish the posture looked…well, more unguligrade rather than like it’s wearing heels (to say nothing of being swaybacked) and had at least the option of more than a very vestigial forehead crest. In at least one tie-in novel, draenei were described as being big, imposing, and kind of weirdly attractive (that last in reference to a male character, by the way) from a human perspective; I wish all of that actually carried over, across the board, to the game.
My characters look good enough. I don’t need to be attracted to them (or have others attracted to them) to play the game. WoW isn’t a dating simulator.
Male night elves got hit with the ugly bat when they got new models. Their proportions are way off what they used to be, and their idle animation kind of makes em look drunk.
Skinny waist and narrow hips, but really thick legs, arms, and hands.
Meanwhile nightborne males are really skinny, but well proportioned.
That’s a stretch. Human male faces are pretty bad if you’re trying too look young and handsome. And let’s not even talk about the awful haircuts.
I seem to recall them always having been kind of awkwardly proportioned. And at least face #1 isn’t exaggeratedly craggy.
More than the faces, the male body models are what bother me.
The human male has no wrists, weirdly protruding hips above the waistline, arms and legs so thick they’re more gorilla than human, and their legs are so short that it just makes everything look that much worse.
The blood elf male has the biggest feet and hands ever. Of all time. They’re huge. Like bigger than their heads and face huge.
Male draenei have even less of a wrist than the male human, and their so stocky that they just look awkward moving in any way.
…And so much more. It’s so weird. And oddly enough, the undead male is the most proportionate and humanoid looking thing in game out of the male body models.
But male face options are definitely lacking. They seem intentionally made to look ugly and the ones that aren’t usually lack some of the detail that the female faces get.
It used to be better, imo.
The vanilla proportions, idle animation, and pose are vastly superior to me.
TBH if they fixed the pose and idle animation the proportions would probably be less noticeable.
Male night elves fingers bother me. No one stands with their fingers straight like that. If you relax your hands the tendons naturally curl your fingers
Oh and the fact that one of their shoulder armor is crooked and Blizzard refuses to fix it
I was gonna say that but i felt like it was just a me thing.
That 3 in 1 shampoo
I agree a lot of them are ugly. Except Blood Elves, Void Elves, Dracthyr Visage, Goblins, Forsaken and both types of Orcs all look like they should imo. Night Elf Males arms look ridiculously long like they could tie their shoes without bending over.
Henry Cavill enters the chat.
I’m hot though.
Hotter than any woman, that’s for sure.
That said, yes, most male character models leave a lot to be desired
General Draven is an ugly monster…but I desire his presence
Herman Munster seen like Ms. Universe
Such literary imagery! I really like his performance in this movie, among others.
General Draven can get away with it because he’s a gargoyle, though.
