As a person who played hunter during original burning crusade I can tell you that the bows/xbows/guns were also displayable across the back.
If you were dual wielding you have your melee weapons on your belt. If you had 2Handed weapons those would be displayed once u took out ur ranged weapon to either shoot or to hold in your hand.
