They kind of have to given how badly Teldrassil was taken by players. They probably want it out of the way when they go for Kerri- I mean Sylvanas’ “redemption.”
I have been having a field day watching the tryhards over in the Feral community have melt down after melt down because they aren’t getting their Wrath nostalgia fulfilled. O M G, a overtly complicated rotation doesn’t dominate all facets of the DPS game.

Yeah. I even get it. WotlK Feral was insanely fun.
But im old now. I don’t even know if I could pull that off anymore.
They probably won’t do that because Horde players would rightly demand why they would have to put up with that crap. It isn’t like they had any say in Teldressil burning and people seem to forget that the Horde playerbase had a meltdown of anger in the wake of that till the Old Soldier cinematic came out. 3rd party gaming news sites were even reporting on the fallout.
True but Blizzard prefers doing neutral content because it is more productive for them. Having faction specific quests makes twice the work for them. The Covenants are the factions of Shadowlands in Blizzard’s eyes. They have literally said as much.
Legion begs to differ.

I agree that the Horde playerbase had a freakout. Me and my Horde friends removed our shoulder piece in solidarity. That being said. Night Elves deserve a better resolution and IF I play in Ardenweald on my Tauren DK. I want to be told flat out by Tyrande and the souls of the Night Elves - You messed up and what makes you think this makes this right? I know for me, it would be bothersome and probably after my first to third run something. I’d dread to see, but as ugly the words of those ghosts. The words need saying. Something which reminds us of what happened. Collectively we did those quests. We did help in the Blood of Thorns invasion and genocide. Directly and indirectly. It is wrong to pretend otherwise or to somehow be considered a blank slate where no comment is made of the butchers of Darkshore, Teldrassil and Ashenvale. I remember telling that rogue Blood Elf to kill plenty of innocents on my monk. I know at the time it was wrong, but like most murder hobos I had fun doing it. That was also wrong. Whether we main Horde or Alliance. We should be held accountable for our actions. However unpleasant that maybe.

The problem I see is that people don’t play it to have “fun” anymore. They play it because they want to play the hardest rotation in the game, or to brag about it. Much of it really comes down to ego. There’s a big issue of rampant elitism in the community. Hell, my favorite era of Feral DPS was Vanilla and BC when the deal was stacking strength, crit, and really big hits with bleeds.
An overly complicated rotation just isn’t going to work with the way Retail is going. Its time to let it go.

Ardenweald DK ability kind of sucks, the ability it gives all classes get is pretty lame imo, now I’ll have to help free souls from the maw that gave me so much Horde pride I helped put there? Thanks, but no thanks.

Not necessarily. I did not join a guild in Legion, but I pugged raids and got AotC for all the raids, and did +15 Mythics keys back then as well. I did the Challenge Mode Dungeons in Warlords of Draenor and Mists of Pandaria. I did join a guild to raid Heroic Firelands in Cataclysm. And I was did the hardcore raiding thing back in Burning Crusade. So I’ve played the game at times probably similarly to the way you do.
And I’ve also have times when I won’t be bothered with any of that: I was completely casual in Classic, Wrath of the Lich King, and BfA. And simply, “whatever advantage I can get” is a misunderstanding the vast majority of people have with the game.

I know this sounds stupid, but it making sense is what makes it all the more frustrating to me, weirdly. 
Especially since everything that led up to this moment felt like it didn’t make sense at all. It’s really embittering for the story to suddenly go “okay now we need to have some semblance of cohesion” now that all the damage is done.

All it does is make me want to kill more night elf civilians and tweet to Blizzard that they made the correct decision and I’d love to see more of that content.
