Sowwy my Emperor!
Soooooo skipped up to this part of the post after reading about how the horde “shouldn’t have attacked Ashenvale under garrosh.” And don’t know it’ll it is still being debated up here buuuut people seem to forget that after wrath the Nightelves refused to honor their trade agreements with the orcs and kicked them out of the forests at the time, because of the wrath gate situation. The horde did try to mend bridges and re-negotiate via hamul but twilight cultist (now retconned to garrosh assassins in chronicles I believe) framed the horde for escalating aggressions this leading to that whole debacle. Moral of the story the nightelves reneged on previous trade agreements with the orcs, thus allowing them to starve all for an event that they did not perpetrate. (But Syl apparently planned the wrath gate?)
Kelsey Steelspark would like to have a word about that.
Oh yeah, I’m @ing you Treng. I’m @ing you right freaking now. And worse, I’m invoking the power of Named Gnome NPCs to @you.
I have no idea who she is other than that I think she was in WoD for some engineering voodoo.
She’s been around since Cata, my Treng. She was the gnome rep in Tanaris, spying on pirates.
Then in Legion she was back, chilling with the rogues.
And then in BfA, she was the highlight of the Alliance war campaign.
You don’t know the glory of Kelsey Steelspark, and that is a loss you can never understand.
She’s a gnome SI:7 agent. Played a pretty big role in the BfA alliance war campaign
And she has a collection of knives
Its always awkward when people like myself come into this game looking to either just play with their friends or play certain races; and the game, fans, and Blizzard expects factions and their ideals to be one if not THE main decision point. You’re supposed buy into the whole “faction pride” thing, love the leaders Blizzard has decided to give spotlight too, and the predetermined “morality” or toe the party line like a good little “fan.”
Do you like the aesthetics, outlook, or city of said race you play? Guess what, you’re WRONG if that race isn’t orcs and humans. You’ve gonna paint everything red & black, or yellow and blue, even if its makes no sense or is a fashion faux paus so vile that fashion columnists would call for your execution (seriously, the Darkshore warfront armor painted in Stormwind colors needs to burned). You’re gonna like your favorite races narrative and story get butchered to better make it fit with the proper faction thematics predetermined for the upcoming story.
Faction pride? That’s something you’re supposed to have. Even if the writers are going to browbeat you for going along with the stupid story. You’re supposed to hate the other faction just because Blizzard, the devs, and faction fanatics tell you to.
Factions need to die. We obviously will never get writers good enough to make it “work,” or right all the wrongs we’ve been dealt. The the current faction situations after BfA breaks suspension of disbelief. The Shark has been jumped too many times.
Genn is with Anduin when the latter was kidnapped by the Kyrian Forsworn. It’s safe to say they are not distanced from each other. Genn simply took his troops on a Darkshore holiday, and Anduin let it pass just like he did his Stormheim field trip. And again since it was Alliance Champions that enabled the Dark Moon Army’s victory, there’s no foundation to assume any lasting break with Stormwind as Shandris is in full conference with Genn and company after the abductions.
Saying there is no foundation to assume any lasting break is just outright wrong. It’s very clear that Tyrande has no interest in any correspondence with the High King. Considering there was an attempt to abduct Tyrande as well, the fact that the Kaldorei are participating in Shadowlands effort doesn’t really mean anything.
In case you haven’t been keeping up. Tyrande is not exactly firing on all thrusters now. It’s pretty much Shandris who has taken the reins that Tyrande has let loose in her singleminded drive for vengeance. You claim that Tyrande has no interest in correpsondence. Tyrande has no interest in ANYTHING that does not involve hunting down Sylvannas.
The Kal’dorei however as you seem to have forgotten, do exist beyond her.
Tyrande is kind of operating with blinders rn.
She’s definitely more interesting. Illidan would be so proud of her.
Sure, but who’s to say the Kaldorei are not rallying behind that single purpose? Personally, I think they would be. Like it or not, Tyrande is the leader of the Kaldorei, not Shandris. If Tyrande has no interest in correspondence with the Alliance, then then the rest of the Kaldorei fall in line behind her.
Edit, there is no apostrophe in Kaldorei.
Some of the Nelf soldiers in BFA talk about just wanting the war to be over. Not every Night Elf is in Tyrande’s camp.
Or was. They might be now because Blizzard has to work up the nelf playerbase, but there’s a time wherein they were not.
Eh, I do not find that believable. After War of Thorns, it is not believable to me for any Night Elf to just lie down and take the hit.
By her determination to go it alone, she’s not allowing them to do so.
It’s not believable that soldiers are fatigued of war after years and years of it with WoD being the only real respite?
Some believe it or not, still have families they might want to live for.
Not in the face of a Genocide that robs you and your people of significant blessings from Dragon Aspects, and undoes all the work and toil your people went through purifying Teldrassil.
