Tyrande and the Night Elves: A lesson in karma

Never forget how bigoted, toxic, and rude Tyrande was towards Nightborne and Thalyssra in Legion:

Lady Liadrin (slay queen) showed the nightborne understanding and diplomacy, and thanks to her leadership created a strong bond between these two races. She even said that Night Elves did nothing but sleep in dens and hide in trees while thalassian elves fought to save the world, which is 100% accurate and further showed Thalyssra Tyrande’s hypocrisy.

Tyrande let her grudges and hatred paint a starving race as people as all bad. Now let’s look at where these leaders are?

Tyrande: homeless

Never forget that when the Blood elves went through a similar near-extinction event the night elves took it upon themselves to infiltrate their cities, and fallen settlements, and even staged ambushes on them in the Ghostlands.

Heck they even convinced a Dwarf into fooling them into believing he wanted to negotiate an alliance with them, when really he was funneling them information about their arcane sanctums. One of which “mysteriously” broke down after you found it surrounded with Night elves.

I think you missed legion as we now have Teldrassil’s destruction. Sure, the nightborne are not responsible but their development should’ve objected such an action by Sylvanas.

Tyrande asked a 100% valid question and Thalyssra just decided to act like Tyrande just peed in her cheerios.

I got a lot of people who insulted me too in real life. If I join another group by burning their house down, killing their 4 year old, 20 year old, and 70 year old family members, doesw that mean I can get it thrown out by the court? I can be excused for genocide?

Apparently it can, because this dumbell seems to think this is karma. Excuse me why I go commit some atrocrities and explain to the police that it’s just karma, so and so was being rude and toxic to me.

 Slyvanas is an evil little witch, and you know it. And the Nightborne aren’t any better, they partipated in genocide, they were fine fighting in a war that allowed this.

And they deserve to be smacked around. The other Horde members are not excused just because Slyvanas went “You are nothing!”

Actually no, that makes sense now. Slyvanas was very frustrated at many Horde members suddenly turning against her, and confused on why people like Thaylrssa andf such pretended they had nothing to do with it. (Also FYI. Slyvanas hates Thalyssra and will probably call her names too.)

To be brutally honest here, neither High Elves or Blood Elves should exist. Tyrande and Malfurion mistakenly chose to exile the Highborne instead of eradicating them…and look were we are now.

(You know I like you…and several other Blood Elf players…so that wasn’t at all personal. Now the OP on the other hand…)

The Highborne destroyed the Night Elf empire and nearly destroyed all of Azeroth because of their never ending hunger for Arcane power.

Blood Elves and the Nightborn are descendants of those same Highborne Night Elves so it’s understandable that they’d be treated with suspicion by the survivors.

I mean it waaaas the queen of the Night elves that originally invited the legion to Azeroth. js

The Blood elves are merely descendants, none of the original highborne exist among the high elves. Although it seems strange that she was so willing to accept those very Highborne back into Night elf culture, but then treat the Nightborne so coldly.

We already have Arathi and Lordaeron. We have repelled the Horde from Darkshore. Guess who’s next on the menu, lad.

The “Highborne” are Night elves. It’s a caste of night elves. The “Rich” or royal are not a different race simply because they have some honorific title.

This. How sensitive the Nightborne were over it just makes them more suspect.

Remember when Tyrande sacrificed herself in Warcraft 3 for Kael’thas and his followers? Remember when Tyrande sent troops to fight in the Nightborne’s mess despite her contempt for them?

Remember when the blood elves ancestors brought the Burning Legion to the world? When the Nightborne sat in a bubble for 10 thousand years and then join the Legion when they finally come out?

Tyrande was a realist, anyone would have been angry and distrustful in her position. Suramar was the city she grew up in, and it pains her to see they are still pompous crack addicts.

Where did I say it was a different race? The Highborne caste were the ones who wrecked things led by Azshara.

Highborne = High/Blood Elves and also the Nightborn

Yes and the Highborne were born from Night elven culture, they are the product of a society that belong to the same race. Azshara was the queen of ALL night elves, not just Highborne. It was said highborne and lowborn alike would commit any deed, however heinous or dangerous if it meant being elevated in her eyes.

It shows that Night elves are just as susceptible to corruption as any other race, and have their own fair-share of evil decisions as well. This is much different than blaming a race for the actions of distant descendants that no longer exist, all while inviting those very perpetrators back into their society, and then insulting the Nightborne for the very same thing.

Tyrande’s gripe with the Nightborne seems far more personal, as the very things she listed as possibilities, are the same things that would apply the Highborne she allowed back into Night elf society.

How are they distant descendants exactly? All the Nightborn we meet in the campaign were alive before the Well was destroyed.

Now add in the fact that they’ve become mana addicts and you can see why the current Night Elves find them sketchy. That same desire for the Arcane was what ruined the world in the first place and pushed the Night Elves towards druidism.

The Night Elves have always disliked Magic users.
