Tyrande and Nathanos original battle?

Can someone please send me a link to the original fight between Nathanos and Tyrande. The one that generated all of those memes.

You mean this gem:

One of the perfect examples of Blizzard’s top tier writing on display.

I was always amused by the short distance you fly away in this scripted event.

Would have been cool to see her decapitate Nathanos here, hold his head up high for all The Kaldorei to see, toss it aside and declare Sylvanas is next.

But Nathanos is a self insert, so. :woman_shrugging:t2:

Honestly one of the most disappointing Worst Battles in BFA.

Tyrande should have killed Nathanos.

To be fair, Nathanos is a small fry in the grand scheme of things.

The Val’kyr are Sylvanas’ horcruxes. By killing a Val’kyr, Tyrande basically killed a bit of Sylvanas.

Kind of in a way but still didn’t give the Night Elves justice for Teldrassil through. Also Ashenvale. Since when was the Last time Ashenvale was retaken?

In lore? Sure! In game? AHAHAHAHA!

I thought tyrande was supposed to be like god like or something.

I guess not.

Wonder what she did all these years.

I went rebel with Saurfang in the hopes that I could slap Nathanos around a bit. I was disappointed.

So have her kill Nathanos and have the Val’kyr sacrifice herself to bring him back, have him rattled by this death and eat some humble pie that he underestimated the Night Elves seriously and it cost them

That would have been a more satisfying kill. Or at least have the scenario show as more of a meatgrinder for the Horde, like they did against the Alliance at the battle of Lordaeron, that would have been a good way to show off just how hard Nathanos was being outplayed during that fight with dozens of troops dying around him.

The problem with killing Val’kyr is, until you kill all of them, and then kill Sylvanas, it’s meaningless. There’s no real difference between her having 1 Val’kyr and having 10. She’s still immortal and she’s still murdering everybody and turning them into “free willed” Forsaken.

And Blizzard is never actually going to let Sylvanas die. They’ve outright said as much. So zero gain from killing Val’kyr. At least killing Nathanos would have rid us of a horrible character.

I mean, they lied through their teeth and to our faces about pretty much everything else that would happen this expansion, so who knows.

she has 10k years of experience in fighting furbolgs who got corrupted because a centaur took a leak upstream. the idea that her age makes her this experienced and skilled tactician is a meme that nelf mains have clung to since wc3 where she got BTFOed by just the warsong clan.

Ill slap you around a bit if you even dare lay a finger on this man candy.

Best analogy so far. I mean malfurion was also in the fight. What blizz should have done was:

Let Tyrande get poont by nathanos cause all her years of fighting crazy furblogs was useless. And then make malfurion save her (like he always does) and kill nathanos in the process. That would have been acceptable

Why all the Nathanos hate?

Mainly cause he is so 1 dimensional. His character is just sooo badly done.

Google “Nathanos and Steve Danuser”.

It took me to Dark Mirror, a story written by Steve. If you want me to read the book in order to get your point across of why you don’t like Nathanos, it’s not a great way of doing it.
The guy is driven by his duty to Sylvanas. It’s interesting to me if he’ll always follow her no matter what. He seems like he will, even though there have been times where you see him hesitate. He’s not my favorite character, but he surely isn’t my most hated.
The character I don’t like is Malfurion. That dude is a bore.
