I’ve noticed a lot of questlines touching a bit more on the emotional/psychological side of things in every zone, instead of everything just being “HERO! GO SAVE THE UNIVERSE AND BRING ME 10 SPIDER LEGS!”
Obviously we will get to that point, but having (dare I say it?) writing be a bit more in-depth, makes me want to read the quests and slow down even more than I am.
This has been a very pleasant and welcome surprise.
Like many, I’ve also dealt with taking care of a parent while they were heading for their next adventure in another life. (RIP Pops). The quests were a surprise but yes, they were handled with care.

i was on a call last night with my friend that doesnt play WoW anymore (last played since Cata) but they kinda high level follow what’s going on in the game.
Anyway I showed them a screenshot of hallowfall and they asked if the giant ceiling crystal was the bottom of the big sword and now its like HHHHHHHHMMMM ??? WHAT IF??? x files music plays

Apparently beledar has been there for a long time? Seems closer to a super gigantic piece of Xe’ra tho, something naaru related given what we’ve seen before with other naaru becoming dark after being damaged and turning into void beings.
Which is definitely what’s happening in Hallowfall and creating an impossibly large void god thing is part of Xalateeth’s endgame. That’s my prediction.

He did, but importantly Medivh did refer to Khadgar as the Guardian in Return to Karazhan. And as she was an artifact weapon at the time, in all likelihood Xal’atath was there.

Also just popping in to say I’m in love with Hallowfall and I can’t wait to fight the evil empire in a future expansion. 
Very hyped for Prophecy Emperor.
Faerin describes the empire, when asked, thusly:
Faerin: “Vast, powerful, and bathed in the Light… The Empire is a force to be reckoned with.”
Anduin: “It sounds like a visit would be an interesting journey.”
Faerin grimaces
Faerin: “To be honest, I’m not sure how kindly the mainland would take to the… variety of peoples you all keep company with. We in Hallowfall know beggars can’t be choosers. We need all the help we can get. And you all have proven to be fine folk. But the Empire is not so… open-minded. Or so desperate.”
Honestly it sounds like a fun “third faction” in terms of Azerothian civilisations that could prove to be an existential threat. I hope they give us some Byzantine aesthetics but Hallowfall itself looks pretty Western so probably not.
Also I ship Faenduin so hard now, move over Taelia Fordragon you’re old news.

Same. I ran all over it last night to look in buildings and get a feel for it. My guild might be making some RP alts related to the place - either characters who were related to the missing Arathi and searching for them, or Hallowfall citizens. Or both.
Is there another place where the Arathi are at or are they referring to the old highlands and don’t know that their king is dead and the last of the ruling Stromgardian line is a death knight?

So many quests! I’m reading all the text, collecting every treasurer, killing rares, mining nodes and fishing. I got a cosmetic from a treasure pool!!
I’m not sure of the exact timeline. It seems to be timey-wimey (or I haven’t had enough caffeine all weekend).
It’s something like a king (emperor?) of Arathi had a vision and sent off an expedition that got lost. It’s been long enough that Faerin Lothar was a child at the time, but even if she’s in her 30s, I can’t match it up to Arathi as we know it.
If we go with the Empire of Arathor versus Stromgarde, maybe time is working differently in hollow Azeroth or maybe there’s something we’re missing here? I don’t remember any Trollbanes being mentioned in quests. I’m kind of speculating that there’s some other remnant of Arathor somewhere that we’re not aware of.
Except Faerin is a Lothar.
I feel like Gentarn needs to take a look at this.
There are comments made in the expac about whether or not the high elves and humans intermingled (not to mention short ears) and there are kids. We know that Hallowfall has been settled long enough to build cities and that they experienced the Day of Darkness that Sargeras stabbed Azeroth. I’m still going through the questing so I don’t have good answers.
The Arathi Empire from which the Hollowfall Expedition originated isn’t the same Empire of Arathor that we’re familiar with.
At some point in the very distant past, humans from the Empire (the original one, the one in the Eastern Kingdoms) and elves from Quel’Thalas set out on an expedition (not the Hollowfall Expedition, that’s a different, and much more recent thing, and yes this is all a little confusing to sort out) across the sea.
They discovered a new landmass, presumably Avaloren, and founded a new Arathi Empire, which is the Empire that sent out the Hollowfall Expedition around fifteen or so years ago.

That makes more sense than trying to differentiate Empire of Arathor (original human nation in Eastern Kingdoms and also referred to as Arathi) and Arathi Empire (Arathian descendants who are established somewhere else beyond the Storming Sea).
It took me a few minutes to sort since I try not to look at spoilers too far ahead of time. I forgot that someone mentioned Avaloren. I assume we’ll see the rest of the across the sea kingdom in an upcoming expac.
The Warcraft Wiki has a pretty good page on Arathi Empire. I could see some decent RP taking place in Hallowfall.
