[TWW Spoilers] Thralls storyline

For this one at least, because it isn’t supposed to be the same theme.

Bloodlust is originally from Ogre Magi in WC2 ( https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Ogre-Mage_(Warcraft_II) ) and then WC3 ( https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Shaman_(Warcraft_III) ), and as Shamans were Horde only to begin with, it only existed as Bloodlust.

When Alliance got Shamans, Bloodlust did not fit the Alliance theme, and hence got a name/visual difference for them.

blizzard dont care about classes that dont involve elves and humans

Do Paladins have different named abilities?

Thrall has become the WoW equivalent of an emo kid that can’t decide which hair dye is appropriate for him. He’s less disgusting than Baine but slightly worse than Anduin at this point.

Just flush him please. Nobody will miss him.

Since paladins don’t have anything that is antithesis to Horde, unlike bloodlust which is antithesis to Alliance, no as they shouldn’t.

But originally, yes, they also did (https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Seal_of_the_Martyr vs https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Seal_of_Blood)

And the Primalists in Dragonflight

Druids are the princes/princesses guarded by dragons class while all the others have to suffer

I’m okay with this if Thrall’s journey to recover his connections to the elements actually goes somewhere. Because it could be a kind of mirror to Anduin losing the light and recovering it. A “war within”. In the meantime he needs to not be useless and he should be a warrior that fights like the elements are a part of him. Swift as the coursing river, force of a great typhoon, and strength of a raging fire kind of thing.

Ok but you can see how thats both

  1. A copout
  2. Means the Horde isnt fleshed out

The Alliance isnt one thing. Neither is the Horde. The idea that no one on the Alliance would be ok with bloodlust is bad wroting and its pretty stupid.

What are factions? Do the races have specific identities? Do the individuals?

None of this is logical.

Bloodlust is the historical name over the course of the Warcraft games, and when Draeni the only original Alliance race to have Shamans were added to the Alliance, Bloodlust made no sense for them, and it made no sense to change the iconic spell for the Horde.

And as time goes on, it also makes no sense to change the Alliance after the fact to have Bloodlust either, so no, the way it done is the logical way.

I’m going to be honest, for all of the complaints about the possibility of a Sylvanas redemption arc, the idea of a Thrall redemption arc is eleventy times more cringe to me. Especially knowing that THE ONLY REASON IT WILL EVER HAPPEN is because Metzen is back.

The absolute most cringiest self-insert redemption arc we’ve ever seen is on the horizon and I’m here to laugh at and mock it.

And it will deserve all of the laughter and mocking it receives.

It means there’s inconsistency within the class. Theres inconsistency because the development team doesnt know what they want in this class, and im starting to think theyd be happier if it just went away.

Different races on different factions use time warp, and execute, and Chaos bolt, and mind control, and Consecration.

The spell is what it is. Either the magic is the same, the school its pulled from is the same, or it isnt.

Blizzard needs to make a choice. And stop ignoring shaman.

If they give us a good mature story and keep up with the game improvements DF added I’ll be happy, haven’t read much about the hero talents though so maybe that could change my mind

Are you really comparing something that is a purely aesthetic name/visual difference for theme, to class balance and ‘ignoring shaman’?..

I get some of the complaints but it’s quite the leap to go from “they flavoured hero/lust to the factions” to “they clearly don’t know what they want from this class”.

Hell I’d like to see more of that. Cosmetic flavour is an easy win for making different races/factions feel different without worrying about the balance consequences of something being mechanically different.

It’s why Bloodlust/Heroism still exist in their forms today but Seal of Blood and Seal of Vengeance lasted all of 1 expansion before all Paladins got both, cause it wasn’t balanced.

Do you want to win an argument on the internet or do you want to have a serious conversation?

The evidence for shaman being ignored is clear and obvious. I wont argue that with you.

I was going for the latter, but apparently that isn’t possible.

So best of luck.

Blizzard needs a Narrative Team that will treat the Characters as actual Characters in a story and not proxies for their own personal lives.

how many more times is Thrall going to have Metzen’s Midlife Crisis?

Beta is going to be fun finding out how much of alpha was bugged lines not popping up and first drafts, and how much is actually us getting nothing on that front again.

Like a proper shaman though, your expectations should be in the dirt. That’s where mine are after doing the quests.

I wish Thrall would die. I would prefer it be off-screen and someone just off-hand mention it like, Oh yeah thralls dead. And then we never hear about him again.

However I know that is unlikely. So even if they make it some epic sacrifice. Like to defeat one of the raid bosses he merges with the elements and blah blah explosion.

Just please. Kill Thrall.
