Isn’t the “achievement” just max level?
As a druid main I do not like this. And as a result I have not pre-ordered the expansion. The first time that has ever happened since I started playing in early 2008.
Yes, that was what was stated at Blizzcon. As it was also stated dragonriding would be out of the gate.
Some people find the false equivalence to be an unfairness that can be addressed without discussing the lack of sameness in the situation, including new options for accessibility.
Open world content since BC has been trivial. Flying didn’t make it trivial, flying made it less tedious.
So…it’s not really Pathfinder. The title of the thread is misleading and insincere.
Giving us flying and stop trying to limit it. Open world has been trivial for well over a decade. Limiting flying doesn’t suddenly make the content better, just more tedious.
And don’t get me started putting treasure boxes on tree limbs. With dragonflight it’s a pain in the royal behind to get on some of them
That’s not really the case considering they still gave us old flying (and it always worked as a ghost).
DR has been more than popular enough that they could have launched both at the same time and probably not seen much of a difference in adoption.
No…? You still have to complete the main storyline of the base patch as well as explore the continent. It’s still a pathfinder, there’s just no rep requirement. I provided sources, use them lol.
They don’t. This is being done just so Ion can prove he is in control. It doesn’t do anything to improve the game and only pisses off players.
I read someone from Poland already unlocked this in TWW?
Who knows. Blizz logic is uninterpretable.
I mean, it’s obvious at this point that the current devs don’t like the original flying mechanic. Agree with them or not it is effecting their design philosophy.
Personally, I like dynamic flying more than traditional because it is more engaging. I feel like I need to pay attention to what I’m doing so I can maintain speed and momentum. Original flying is boring but less…chaotic, I move up 10 ft and dismount. No shooting 100 miles past the cliff and trying to turn around.
Out of all the pathfinders we have had I think DFs is best (and likely TWWs). Explore the zones, finish the campaign, and boom you get casual flying.
I wish they would just let people fly how they want, but this is a decent compromise imo.
There really is no point, other than “We made dynamic flying so you have to use it, see how much better it is?”, which I actually agree with, but then if you frame regular flying as an accessibility thing, which Ion did, that directly nullifies that argument because accessibility should trump “because we feel like it” when asking the question as to why it’s forced dynamic until max level. Either it’s accessibility or it’s not (as someone who has no accessibility needs and vastly prefers dragonriding/dynamic flying)
Pretty sure it screws with botting if they can’t use old style flying right out the gate, so they have to have programs for DR or use outright hacks, which makes them more easily spottable.
At the end of the day there would be more people not engaging with the content properly if everyone had static flight than there are people who need static flight as a crutch for disability. Blizzard wants to make sure everyone engages with the content, properly, at least once. For those who physically cannot dragonfly they can still do all the objectives with a ground mount if need be.
Don’t pretend like we don’t have over 15 years of data showing exactly how people were using static flight to avoid dealing with the environment, land takeoff and land so the npcs near your objective are still patting back to where they aggrod from, giving you enough time to open the mcguffin and mount up before they aggro again. Players did this to themselves.
Pointless.
The majority of players already find dynamic flight superior to static flight. So why hobble the ones who disagree with that?
At least I won’t have to do pathfinder!
You repeated YOUR point…
That should be the question they are asked.
I would love to hear the logic, because no matter what they will try to say, it will not be backed by any sort of logic.
Because it can not.
