In your opinion. I see more of the game with traditional flying than I do zooming through the game with dragonflight. I actually stop and look at things, investigate buildings/caves, etc. Dragonflight just provides faster travel, if/when I use it.
Unless, of course, I am doing any of the races, then the need for dragonflight is obvious. Other than the WQ races, I stopped doing them, because it hurts my hand too much and that isn’t fun. No amount of accessibility options is going to change that.
Dynamic flight isn’t everyone’s cup of tea and that’s totally fine, in my opinion. Personally, I am more engaged when I use it, but you are right in saying that there’s not much time to stop and “smell the roses” so to speak. I tend to use both systems instead of one exclusively. It largely depends on my mood or how I’m feeling on any given day. I have carpal tunnel in both hands/wrists (thanks gaming!) so sometimes it is easier for me to take things slow.
But it also means it’s not nearly as popular as you suggest, as others will not have fun with it.
Remember, people use it in DF because it is faster, not more fun.
TWW might end up having it use old world speeds, which means it may not be as efficient as it was. Which means people will most likely choose what they like then what is efficient.
As they say, people will always choose the path of least resistance. It’s human nature.
I get motion sickness if I go fast with dynamic flying. I wish I could have normal flying immediately, but I can live with getting it at max level. If it was another year wait, I probably wouldn’t even buy the new expac.
I’ll take the whole bundle of dynamic flight for druids as a win. In and of itself. I’m not sure what that experience is going to be like in conjunction with static flight. I’m curious to see how it fleshes out.
I can’t say for sure, but I feel like it would be unfair if I had static flight capabilities in flight form when non-druids wouldn’t be able to use static form off the bat. I could see more people crying over that than not getting a legendary fast enough, tbh. and Rightfully so! They introduced flight and since then they’ve basically made it feel like you need to have a car pool to use the lane they paved for us.
Too many uncertainties to know how I feel about “it”
I mean, without the PTR we don’t know anything for certain. What they said at Blizzcon is that you would need to complete the main campaign stuff in order to unlock it, and it would all be available to do immediately with no time gating.
Unless you have numbers to back this up, you don’t get to claim this. Blizz put dragonriding into old world because it was so popular. Claiming, “they do it because they have to” is nonsensical, considering we don’t have numbers before or after normal flying was released.
Yeah. Dynamic flight’s announcement got a pretty good reaction from the crowd at Blizzcon, and dragonriding has received a lot of praise overall. I may not have the numbers, but I know what I see.
