TWW Pathfinder: Whats the Point?

Personally, I think he sees both PF and DRing as his babies…and so both take precedence. So he’ll keep pushing PF in one form or another so we all know who the boss is.
My ex used to pull this kinda pointless crap all the time just to try to keep me in line.

Pathfinder has been in every expansion since WoD.

If those “extra steps” were clunky or unfun you’d have a fun.

As is the current speeds boost and other abilities you have to actively engage with are fun. By this logic you should autopilot during combat as well.

The logic is to punish players who don’t align with their “vision” of what flight should be.

They dodged the question like they were playing hot potato. Like I said the more this lingers the more bad it looks for them.

and didnt need to be except a tantrum being tossed by someone who WANTED flight gone but figured out the hard way that the masses of players dont want it gone.
IF they had been talented like those who came before they could have just created content with flight in mind…which they did in spades in DF, proving they could, leaving the obvious assumption that laziness or pettiness is why they wanted flight gone, and why pathfinder was born.

Im not a psychologist, but I play one on TV.

Is the KFC Double Down your favorite sandwich?

I think some of the issue is that old flight, for druid anyway, has some serious game advantages.
Such as I just did the one quest in the Cavern where youre scanning the trash down there…10 of them. With druid flight form I dont even need to land. DRing players arent able to do that.
The easy remedy here is force druids out of flight form in such cases, just like a mounted player would be forced off their mount.
I think if they removed some of druids advantages, at least in the beginning, they wouldnt need to be so obviously scared to death of old flight.

Because the old world zones are smaller. That’s why. That’s the whole reason. Obviously they weren’t compatible, they weren’t designed for any type of flying.

You’re literally the only one who does this.

You keep saying this, yet again, everywhere I’ve been I see people engaging with it constantly?

Do you have any evidence at all? Put up or shut up.

Let me say that I think the reason I believe its DRUIDS and flight form they really are horrified of, is that they kind of evidenced this with being able to farm while mounted with the profession talents.
The second I saw that I immediately thought that this was all just about druids and flight form.
I mean, they really stripped druids advantages away this time.

Lets be honest BlizZard can do that with a hot fix but choose not to do it. Look at DR in the old world where they tuned down the flight speed.

Bottom line is that what they are doing is playing world salad games hoping people are okay with this.

I am personally not disabled but I was surprised it was brought up in the DF beta. But because of that feedback it just goes to show that forcing a narrow design paradigm has consequences.

That consequence was two long threads in the DF beta which was very empathetic toward players providing feedback and frustration with DR while locking normal flight away from them as an option.

It looks like we are heading for another collision course once more.

Keep in mind the DF beta was basically a ghost town in terms of feedback and those two threads regarding DR were the hottest threads going.

…perpetually with this company.
I mean, some of the stuff they do reminds me of a friend who we stopped allowing to GM our table top RPGs.
Instead of writing things up for the group to have fun, this clown literally felt like it was the GM VERSUS players, lmao…and ran every game with that mindset.
We got to the point where no one will play if he is running it. Too much aggrivation.

It shouldnt be blizzard AGAINST the player base, but it sure as hades feels that way a lot of times.
I dont raid, but seeing them screwing with raiders ability to handle gear the way they want just made my eyes roll. Pointless irritation like that just seems to be…yeah…begging for things to collide.

With BlizZard you can NOT be nice with them.

They take a very narrow mindset when designing their games lately because they think player feedback is noise.

Ironic that player feedback has been on point regarding covenant locking, classes being pruned too much, rental systems etc, etc.

Back in the day BlizZard respected player feedback and they respected players time investment in the WoW.

Now it is like they are pinching pennies with concessions and see player feedback as something that slows down their development.

Normal flying is a standard for the rest of the MMORPG industry because it connects zones together to create a larger world.

Current team is doubling down on instanced content which is where they fail to understand the appeal of world questing and normal flight.

They in no way dodged the question. He gave a clear explanation of their reasoning. Giving an answer you don’t like isn’t dodging the question.

His reasoning wasn’t clear which is why this thread exists! BTW I didn’t start this thread!

It is perfectly clear to people that have seen it and have the ability to understand the English language. I can’t speak for any available translations as I haven’t looked into them.

In the PVP community we had to fight tooth and nail to have conquest and honor gear back and to have it at a set ilevel.

Reason being is that BlizZard was fearful of having it as a means for PVE players for entry level dungeons and raids. But I do not see wrong with PVE players filling in gaps due to a poor PVE gearing system.

With normal flying all that matter is that players have a choice and trying to force that choice never works.

BlizZard keeps failing simple aspects of MMORPG design which is player choice.

If BlizZard is so afraid of player choice they should not be in the business of MMOs and MMORPGs.

pretty much the same mindset of the friend we banned from GMing.
We’d literally tell him NOT to mess with our campaign storyline…say we had a middle earth one going for YEARS on and off…so he wants to GM and we let him.
By the time this clown was done, the next time I ran I had to say the entire thing was a mass dream caused by a spell because what he did would literally have trashed middle earths entire history, lmao.
He just did stuff to tick players off.
Feels kinda familiar.

Yeah, Im a blizzard fan from way back. They never were like this before that I ever noticed. Always felt like they were making their games FOR the player, not for someone running the game and his own personal preferences.
Looking at the last few expansions…and Im thankful i started when legion was current.
Had it been WoD, BFA or SL, Im positive Id have quit and unsubbed pretty quickly.
3 of 5 of the last expansions, total stinkers in my opinion. Not because of the content, but because of crap put in there to intentionally waste time with busy work instead of real content.

I dont mind grinds. Theyre part of these kinds of games. But if theyre clearly just there to mindlessly grind absent any story or motivation, hard pass.

Honestly if that is the concern they can fix that in a hot fix. Truth be told BlizZard only acts when there is push back.

So this is where that is heading again.

See you all in the TWW beta.

Guess which thread will be in the top of the general TWW beta forum once more.

I dont think I want to do beta this time.
Totally ruined DF for me. By the time DF went live I was already burning out, lol.

Beta is where feedback reaches some of the devs. Without those beta threads in DF I would predict we were that close to losing normal flying forever again.

They tried to yank it away in WoD and were ready to do it again in DF from what I was told.
