You play game, you spend time in it, you get rewards for your time spent in it.
It’s not like I literally log on and see a full suit of 606 pop up on my screen. No, if I have 606, then I had to do a bunch of crap to get that 606 stuff.
Just… somewhat less crap than I would have done in prior expansions.
What marriage ? taking your time is marriage or paying 15 buck a month is too hard for some ?? I would say the world first players are married to wow and they do it in a week and prepare before hte expansion launches
Only if I want to play a MMORPG and these days it looks less and less like one. I have seen Ark servers with more social interaction these days. Even if if it is just someone teambagging their friend.
Some of this stuff, you needed to do so much flippin grinding for, and keep running the same dungeons and raids over and over and over and over again hoping to get what you want/need.
No, I don’t want a game that insists on taking 20, or even 10 hours a week from me, because I have a job, I have obligations in life, I have other interests and I have other games.
I don’t need a jealous game demanding as much of my time as possible.
Especially when you combine that with FOMO BS where they only let you get some stuff during a “season”. That’s probably the worst part about DF and TWW, is this “Season” crap.
The fix being doing a few lower keys to get rating seems straightforward to me. I don’t think that is much of a roadblock, you just have to do content you outgear for rating.
WoW literally requires less time than ever at this point you can be geared just soloing delves, if they’re too hard that’s not a time issue it’s a skill issue.
The OP is complaining that Delves make it “too easy” to get geared. I’m saying “that’s a good thing, because I don’t want a return to Pre-TWW levels of grind”.
Nobody is forcing you to play 10 hours a week lolz. If you have other things to do , then do them and comeback later. We are just 9 days into the season . There is a lot of time
You literally said the worst part of the TWW it sounds like you’re just complaining to complain, maybe you could put some of that time in to actually playing the game?
And video games with god mode that hands out all the rewards becomes very boring very quickly.
Because how it usually works is, in game challenge, successfully complete challenge, get in game reward.
If people put a lot of work into something and see bunch of people that put in no work get the same rewards, they tend to stop putting in the work and stop caring about it.
You see, the problem with that mentality, is that it’s procrastination.
Day 9 of the season: oh, I got lots of time.
Day 19 of the season: oh, I got lots of time.
Day 29 of the season: oh, I still got time.
Day 39 of the season: eh I better get this done soon.
Day 49 of the season: yeah, I should start today.
Season almost done: crapcrapcrapcrap I gotta hurry
Next thing you know, you ran out of time and it’s gone.
I will never agree with or condone FOMO content. Everything should remain available 100% of the time, for all time.
Now, having a mount drop off a raid boss always going to 1% … well at least it’s still available.
But things being GoneForever? Screw that. Achievements only, perhaps. But mounts, transmogs, etc? Heck no.
totally disagree . the game is still on its first month and mythic plus just started. I am not sure what kind of results are you looking for ? many of us are braking the 600 level and m+2 are manageable as long as people know the routes and mechanics . slowly you grind the rest and go higher . same with heroic raid . is your suggestion to get higher gear on week one of mythic plus and heroic raid ? I think you are confused on how this game works through the years
You know, JRPGs would always do this crap where if you killed the Optional Superboss™ in the game, you’d get the best weapon in the game.
Then you ask yourself… “WTF do I need this for, if I killed the strongest thing in the game!?”
Same concept applies here.
What’s the point of running a treadmill for infinity grinding grinding grinding for a few + on your gearscore, only to clear the highest raid and get more gear?
Never understood it myself.
Only when people base their self-worth on a game and its pixels.
The game should be about fun while you play the game. Gear is a tool to make your character stronger so that you can take on harder content.
That’s how RPGs, especially JRPGs, tend to function. Level up, get better equipment, you’re able to survive more difficult encounters. If you can’t survive it yet, go back and get some more XP, gear, whatever it is you need.
But wanting the highest level gear from the highest level content is the literal approximation of the InfinitySword+1™ that any JRPG has and is just as stupid.
EDIT: One might argue “you can carry that into the next tier of content” or “use it in PvP” … but… doesn’t that remove a lot of the challenge from said content? I thought you wanted to do hard content? If you’re over-geared because you got rewarded with an InfinitySword+1 and the new tier comes out, and you roflstomp it…
You’re just gonna end up here complaining it’s too easy and that it should be tailored for you and people like you to the exclusion of the rest of the playerbase.
Oh hey look!
The exact problem i said would come into effect because blizzard screwed with M+ system with the “Squish”
They basically invalidated anything below a 7+ for Mythic and the difficulty gap there is horrible.
Blizzard once again, felt the need to tinker with something that no one asked or wanted them to tinker with.
If they would have left the M+ system alone, as it was, and just added delves none of this would be an issue because it would be far more reasonable to climb through M+ then it currently is.
