That’s why I only PvP now after playing for 16 years and detest the pve requirements to PvP.
this is the wrong way of looking at it.
The time to get M7+ upgrades should include the progression of M2-3-4-5-6 as requirement to get M7.
Therefore it’s not a waste of time, it’s a requirement of time.
You got 606 by bypassing M1-2-3-4-5-6 with other means of getting gear (vault, how trivial normal raids are, how trivial delves are). If you maxed bountiful maps you’re have, ideally, 1 616 and 3-6 610 items.
Further, you’re putting a lot of hyperbolic emphasis on “needing rating” when many groups just look at your ilvl
So Mythic+ up to 7 drops champ level gear upgraded each time up to 7. Mythic+7 and above is Hero track 1/x gear. Difficulty increases due to 15 sec doc from timer at 7+. Mythics+4 and above drop Runed Crests therefore you can upgrade all of your Champ path gear and hero path halfway. Gilded crests are +9.
Except right now it is a waste of time to do M1-6.
I can do T8 delves which are monumentally easier then M1-6, get champion gear, and get 616 gear from my vault.
In fact im almost full champ dear and with 3 hero pieces, and i have not stepped foot in M+ i have zero reason to waste my time in M+ that reward vet gear, and honestly wasting my time doing M+ that rewards me champ gear even.

disagree. people are getting gear at/above/for content they are incapable of doing. Just because you got 606 ilvl because an npc carried you through delves doesn’t mean M1-6 is now just an easy chore
I can absolutely guarantee you that you are not outgearing M+ at 606.
“higher end” M+ would be 10+ nowadays. 606 is barely high enough gear to really do the level of M+ that would award you equal ilvl loot, unless you’re playing with absolutely ELITE players. (+6)
Delves are the best bang for ilvl right now in the game. They messed up the progression path with the current M+ tuning.

Not true at all. Do T8 delves, get 616 gear in your vault.
Do other seasonal activities (like Black Temple this week), get 1 piece of Heroic raid level gear as well as Champion track drops.
You can easily be in 616+ gear by the end of the season without once stepping into a Heroic Raid or higher and Mythic+… and I don’t think any expac has been able to claim that before.
No, it’s completely fine. You just run lower stuff till you get the rating, and it will be a little easier to finish them. Games ARE a waste of time for you life so enjoy them.

Yes, but your 606ish gearscore doesn’t mean anything when you apply for a group to do an M7 and get rejected because you have 0 experience in M+
They should have just made delve gear only for delves, m+ gear only for m+ and then everyone would be required to progress.
Instead you’re doing trivial solo content, getting a gear score that puts you deep into M+ progression but you can’t simply “skip” the progression unless you make your own group or run with premades.
That’s a huge exception which people have appreciated since it allowed them to skip portions of m1-6

If you can’t make fully loaded Q5 gear with concentration at this moment, you’ve either done very little with your profession or you spent your knowledge points exceptionally poorly.

This, blizzard has made getting heroic geared SUPER easy now. Which sucks because my marker for the season each season is to get full heroic upgraded gear. At which point im done, because im not going to do Mythic raiding, and im not going to play blizzard weekly scratcher card on the vault to fish for pieces of Mythic gear.
By screwing with the M+ levels and squishing it done the managed to fast track the entire M+ gearing system because everyone will skip anythign below a 7.
For you maybe, but this is a new season, people care more about your gear score then they do your mythic score because everyone who is wanting to push high levels are just grinding out delves to skip the entirety of doing M1-6.
Or in the case of being a tank or healer, we just dont care either way because there is such a need for them we will be able to jump right into M7+ with a good enough gear score.
No they shouldn’t don’t even suggest that. It’s completely fine how it is. He just need to run his lower stuff and quit crying.
I think you misunderstood me. I am not referencing the M+ difficulty at all. I am just saying that because of how this expansion unfolded there is absolutely no reason to do anything short of M7+ because you could easily get 606 gear from delves as early as last week. However, the entire M+ rating system makes it all but impossible to start at M7+ and going through the lower end M+ just to get rating when you don’t need the gear is ridiculous to me.

You mean me? im not crying lol i love this system, because it means i dont need to baby sit bad DPS through low level mythics anymore. I can just grind out and get full champ upgraded gear with some hero pieces and jump right into 7+
I play a tank so im always in need, hell i made it a point for every season in DF, i went to at least 2400, never used a single key of mine once. Ill do it again this season but i get to skip the worst part of it.

So if you start a group and you see 2 applicants, one with ilvl 606 and 0 mythic score and one with 606 and 1000+ mythic score, who are you picking?

Sorry man, but delves are awesome, and I don’t agree at all. I just want to play the game as the fun complete waste of time / life that it is. It’s not an accomplishment, I have a business I can run for accomplishment. If you need more things to do start making your own games and sell them, AI is a great tool right now. Please don’t convince Blizz to waste everyones time making games hard.

I’m not really buying the roadblock argument.
There are paths open, you just don’t like them. You don’t want to push keys or raids.
Edit: Also, delves make keys and raiding easier. If you are nervous about starting keys you can get to 606 and then start m0s to learn the dungeons and move up. Delves provide a nice cushion to gearing for getting into raiding and keys.

This is absolute DPS problem that you are making up, tanks are in high demand, same as healers. because of that…
It is exactly how keys work for us, tanks and healers.
Kay…i did not imply this was an accomplishment or even impressive, lol its a video game, its a waste of time, the best part about delves, i get to skip the parts i find the least fun, which is baby sitting dps in low level keys to gear myself up to do higher level keys.
Like im fine with how this system is because it benefits me immensely.

You “need” rating to do higher keys…which comes from lower keys…but lower keys are a waste of time, so you don’t get the rating…that you “need” to be able to do higher keys…
???
