The whole point of the charity events are to donate to charity, in order to help people. The collectables are just a consolation prize.
If you think that by them re-releasing collectables from those events suddenly “cheapens” them or breaks their original purpose, then you weren’t donating to help people. You were just selfishly buying a limited time collectable…

the avid collectors will buy it immediately rather than having an empty spot in their collection tab for years on end, just look at all the people spamming runs of hh for arfus when it’s much easier to just do 1 a day with the increased odds.

the whole purpose of it being a charity pet was to raise money during the campaign , which it did , bringing it back into does not take anything away from that , doesnt take any money away from what it raised . It will never be a charity pet again , it holds no prestige in game at all ( nothing does ) so why not bring it back
the people who think like that will still buy it because they want it NOW - not years down teh track when they may not even be playing

She never left is the thing, she’s been for sale ever since she was introduced, LONG after the charity campaign ended. Why weren’t you up in arms for any of that instead of now when she’s being given for free as a gift?

Unless they’re upset that they wasted their money? In that case, they must feel like donating to a charitable cause is a waste of time unless they get rewarded for it? Is that their logic on this, because I’d suggest they rethink their complaints.

yeeeeeeeah, I’ll flatly admit I don’t give to charity enough honestly unless something catches my eye and anytime I’ve gotten a charity pet from Blizz (call it being bribed or whatever) I’ve donated to charity and got a reward so no issue there. Any time they’ve left it in the store or gave it away for free there was still no issue because the money went to charity. I don’t feel bad for donating to charity.
“I wish I hadn’t donated because i don’t have the prestige from it anymore” is an outright sociopathic take.

Pretty much.
I’ve bought a few charity pets through the years. Did I buy them because I liked what I saw? Absolutely, but I also did so because they were going toward a good cause.
Just because they have the potential to return years later, either through the Trading Post or through Twitch, doesn’t devalue my purchase whatsoever.
I can’t fathom anyone getting legitimately upset over this sort of thing.

The selective outrage and morality of the internet is too weird to figure out.
The point of a charity pet is to raise funds for said charity. Now if people were being honest they are buying days pets because they want the pets the fact it’s attached to a charity it’s just some good bonus virtue signaling vibes but they really know if they didn’t like the pet , charity or not, they wouldn’t have spent the money.
Now long after the charity has run its poor taste for that former charity pet to be given away.

Wow gets like 3-5 mounts every month over a year. The game is eventually going to have so many mounts and transmog non of this will matter.
To give dottie away now doesn’t invalidate the fundraising! Did the money go to something good? Yes!
And Furthermore, do you feel the need to show off your “kindness” to other around you? Sounds like entitlement and rather selfish!
