Two players can loot same node? (herb/orb)

When looted within a few seconds of each other it seems that both players can loot. If you wait too long then it says invalid target. Even longer and it finally just disappears.

A node can be looted by up to 5 players within a short period of time after the first player taps it.

Wow, I didn’t know that. So when did the multiple loot deal start? I guess it does reduce conflict between players this way, who cares who gets there first.

Legion, at least for main content nodes. I think they updated old nodes during Legion as well.

Is that why i sometimes get a message that there is no loot or something to that effect after looting an herb node? The node is there, i click it and cast all the way through, then get a message with no loot. I’ve also sen nodes disappear on my minimap but its rare and i chalked that up to some cross-realm behind the scenes voodoo.

Yeah, it can be frustrating to have nodes disappear when their time expires but with when only a single player could loot them, you wouldn’t have seen it anyway.

Single player node looting became an issue as CRZ spread. Too many players in a zone after a limited number of nodes, so multi-tap was the answer they came up with.

I believe the time is 30 seconds. It is true for both Herbs and Ore nodes.

I think the change happened some time during Legion. I don’t remember exactly when. It is a terrific change, for gatherers!

…I’ve seen multibox druids picking flowers and when they all do it at the same time, I’d bet they all get one…

Actually, the number of players tapping a node does not affect the number of flowers/ore each player gets.
Each one gets a separate RNG roll to determine how much the particular player loots.

…one as in “one collection”, not one as in “one flower”…

Wow multibox gathering can really score with this new system! Can dispatch monsters fast as well.
