"Two Forms" should be a TOGGLE!

That would be fun

It would definitely add to the RP of Worgen

Or to fix that to actually be accurate to numerous statements from him in game quests, heritage and books:

Have you played worgen much? When it comes to Blizzard attention we really get the short stick. We are down in the dumps when it comes to core races and customization options. When they were handing out detailed options to most races in BFA, we got something equal to the Pandaria update. It took them a decade to fix their poor model swap they made last minute with the release of Cataclysm that had most complaining, and some using 3rd party programs to swap back in the alpha and beta models.

Honestly, since Elune cured us of our “rage,” I’d love the option to fight as a human, too.

That would make Worgen perfect. Fight as you like. Sometimes you fight in Worgen form, other times you fight in human form.

But, until they let us do that… yes I love your idea. I prefer to have my worgen stay in human form most of the time.

Yes both male and female were confirmed to be 8 feet tall in Worgen form.

I still don’t understand the whole “We lose control in combat which is why it happens” thing.

Like, the entire point of the starting zone is that we aren’t controlled by the curse - we learn to control it.

Why on Earth would we just wolf out?

Not to mention, we’ve literally seen Genn fight in his human form.

I assume once work is finalized for Dracthyr regarding their Visage form, they will apply many if not all design choices to Worgen regarding their Two Forms.

I think that’s just hand-waving why they don’t rip each other to shreds. It’s still their trump card for combat, even if they hypothetically could choose not to use it.

I’ve always thought those who don’t want to use Worgen form let them combat to 30% if they drop below that they would wolf out in combat till its over. But on the same hand my character who’s embraced the change let me stay Worgen all the time. More options are always better. Just give us options and a lore correct size. Worgen player numbers jumped with the HD model so why not show Worgen more love?

Honestly at this point, just give Worgen the same functionality as Dracthyr’s “Chosen Identity”, or just allow Worgen to stay in Human form even in combat if they want to be. Let Worgen players play Worgen how they want to and identify with.

Now that Dracthyr have visage form as a toggle, it’s time to extend that functionality to Worgen.

And why not release it now? I mean right now. Hotfix that stuff right in. No reason why you can’t adapt the existing code on alpha to work with Worgen too. It’s the same concept . . . unless ya know, your spaghetti code is a mess and your class heirarchy is all sorts of messed up . . .

If you want to be a human why not pick a human instead of a worgan?

When you make a worgen, your character’s nameplate reads “Worgen”, not “Gilnean”, even before they first transform during their starting zone. When the developers added the race, they expected that people would play it because they want to be the Warcraft version of a werewolf, not a human who has different racials and classes from Stormwind humans and can turn into said werewolf-like creature but never needs to.

Imagine if they made this change and gave Kul Tirans access to the entirety of the normal human model like people here have also frequently demanded in the past. You’d have three separate Alliance races that would be able to look indistinguishable from each other, only separated by racials and class selection, until they do away with race/class restrictions because you all demanded that, too.

From the outset, I was under the impression that a worgen was the classic werewolf type.
I was expecting a human who worgs up in combat and drops out once they calm down a bit. I mean, the Gilnean NPCs who are under the curse (Genn for example) exhibit enough control over the condition.
A toggle would be nice in that regard.

This should definitely be a thing now that Dracthyr are getting this.

If that’s an option they add, that’s fine, but I don’t want it to become the default behavior that we switch back to human whenever we leave combat. It’s been so long since I switched back to human on my Worgens that I literally don’t even remember what their human forms look like. When I want to look at humans, I just play my Human characters instead.

I would argue that this is Blizz’s problem, not the playerbase’s. A lot of people roll Worgen to engage in the werewolf fantasy wherein the wolf form is usually some sort of card up a person’s sleeves that they only pull out when they need a power boost. Now, if you want to argue that people should respect WoW’s own unique take on “werewolves” instead of trying to make it more like other franchises’ (like some fans want with vampires and San’layn), I would agree. The only problem is that Blizz themselves often write key worgen characters (like Genn and Crowley’s daughter) like traditional werewolves. At that point, I can’t really blame many worgen players for feeling like their being barred from engaging in the core fantasy of their selected race. The more I think of it, it’s very similar to the business with Alleria and how she’s just a High Elf who occasionally enters void mode whereas the original void elves were just permanently voidy elves. With this pattern, I feel as though Blizz needs to start giving the Alliance actual new races rather than old ones with gimmick power fantasies.

As for the Kul’tirans? Maybe just don’t make a new Allied Race a body type and then add a bunch of fun characters (e.g. Flynn, Taelia, Derek, etc.) who are supposed to have that identity but don’t share the body type? Blizzard just needs to stop carving up the human identity to make tons of new playable races and embrace the other races within the Alliance. It’s bad for both human fans as wells as fans of gnomes, dwarves, draenei, etc.

Hence the request for a toggle.

I want to be a worgen. This is an ability that already exists with set rules for how it works. This is not about changing those set rules. This is about correcting an inconvenience inherent with the use of the ability so that it can function better as originally intended.
