Minecraft is really popular. WoW could only wish they had as many players.
Kids and the fact that you can pretty much do whatever you want in Minecraft cuz of mods
Kids outnumber adults, WoW is pretty much a dad game these days.
maybe they do but how?
aren’t we post-boomers in an era where having 0-2 kids is the norm as opposed to 6-8?
my logic wants to think there should be more adults
Why are people saying Minecraft is just for kids? The game is fun if you enjoy building and if you get into modded Minecraft there are even more things to do. I am Hermitcraft fan and some of those guys have a ton of subs.
That’s 200,000 babysitters disguised as a computer/tv screen
It’s a “FUN” social game because it’s fun, you know fun.
It’s so fun that people watch others having fun.
It’s fun!!! Keyword here.
I gotta question for everyone.
Do you see it.
I see a lot of people saying the numbers are because of kids but Minecraft is one of those games that appeals to all ages (much like Legos which people have brought up). Both my nephews played - one was a little kid and the other was in his teens when they started. I think both still play. And I know more adults that play it.
I never played it myself but I can see the appeal.
When I stopped playing WoW as my primary entertainment, I played the crap out of Minecraft. It hit several of the fun points WoW used to: Exploring, gathering, crafting, collecting, straightforward gearing. Plus it had endlessly fun customizable player housing!
It lacks story. It lacks challenging combat. It lacks the heck out of beautiful artwork and music, lol. But ANYONE can play it because of the broad difficulty range that allows anyone to progress no matter how they play.
Now WoW can never be Minecraft. It isn’t a sandbox building game and it doesn’t randomly generate worlds for endless exploration. BUT WoW used to be a game that was more rewarding for all kinds of players, skilled and unskilled. And it used to feel a lot more rewarding to play WoW for a couple hours. Blizzard moved away from that model more and more and we ended up with Shadowlands. Bleah.
WoW should be itself, not Minecraft, for sure. But the dev teams should legitimately ask themselves if it wouldn’t behoove them to look at how the games used to be more similar and get back to those parts of the game that have been sidelined.
Oh, and Minecraft CAN be a kids’ game thanks to the difficulty leveling innate to the game. You can put a six year old in Minecraft on peaceful mode and let them just build a house of blocks. The thing is, you can also put the game on hard mode and have zombies breaking down the doors of your adopted village while creepers are blowing stuff up. Lots of player choice in Minecraft.
Adults who cannot enjoy most of the things children enjoy aren’t mature, they are impoverished.
Children love minecraft! It is a better version of legos than the lego games~
Hah, good one
Cause Minecraft has housing.
My 6 year old nephew loves MC, Roblox, and Apex Legends instead of Fortnite lol.
MC is a great game, especially with mods. There’s a reason it’s the most sold game in history. To put it into perspective: MC has sold 238 MILLION copies of the game. Sure some are people buying it again for another system or mobile, but the WHOLE Pokemon franchise has sold 440 MILLION. All of COD has sold 425 MILLION.
Valheim is the adults version of Minecraft.
Jokes aside I bought my two nieces Minecraft 3-4 years ago and they have 100s of hours on it.
I consider Minecraft to be a much more upstanding game compared to like RoBlox which has a blatant cash grab and loot boxes for money aimed at children.
Yeah I just had no idea it was that popular… wow
Some kids grew up with mincecraft and twitch. Well many did in certain parts of the world. Weren’t they both released around the same time I thought.
