Twitch: Why is Minecraft the most watched?

You are not a gamer.

You are old and irrational.

The same reason FFXIV only caps around 12K
Kids, weebs, and, you know, clicking through
speech bubbles for 3 hours doesn’t make for
engaging content :stuck_out_tongue:

Why care about it on any level?

It seems like it’s causing you undue stress.

Just ignore it and move on. It doesn’t effect you in any way.

Your life will be much better if you don’t worry about these things.

Presumably kids?

I don’t know, I don’t watch other people play games.

Apparently, WoW is a dying game,
mostly top 10 on Twitch, YouTube.
GW2 on steam though, 3K viewers.
Hearthstone gets more action than FFXIV

Actually.

THAT is the moment that FFXIV have most twitch viewers - when a streamer goes through the Main Scenario Questline. It is not when the streamer does trials or alliance raids, people want the reactions to the story.

Aka - people want to watch another person click through speech bubbles for 3 hours.

It is something people here on the forums have trouble understanding. FFXIV main attraction on twitch is the main scenario questline.

Yeah, cos there isn’t already 578K fake reaction videos out there.

Kids like to watch other kids play things.

My brother and sisters did it, my god daughter does it, my nieces and nephews do it, and my friends’ kids do it as well. Kids today have access to social circles we never had in my youth, so thousands of them will gather to watch others play things they like.

It’s why I find it odd for grown folks in MMOs to be so invested in game streamers.

Who knows.

Something people also do not seem to understand - most of the time people watch a streamer for their personality, not just because of the game they play.

Grown folks are also very invested in sports players.

Kids are too.

Go figure.

As I said in a post to someone else. People who do not understand above, are just old and irrational.

On that I’ll agree, personality can make up for a lot of
things, but when doing a tedious task for hours on end,
even a good personality will struggle to make things
interesting/entertaining.
Also, becomes draining.

you should try it  not a bad game at all and it has a lil something for every kind of player.

i fell in love with redstone and was addicted to building all kinds of machines. at first youre like just copying and eventually it clicks and you start making existing things more efficient/reliable or even your own from scratch! really stimulating.

wouldnt underestimate minecraft there’s a lot of juice there, for all kinds of people.

technical minecraft searches on youtube can keep you entertained for the whole day ez

Did you remember to wear your orange vest today? I think I saw some kids running in the hall. You might wanna have a word with them.

And also celebrities. All of these investitures are equally odd.

Or, genuinely baffled by the likes of others, and not trying to be insulting.

Cus its a great sandbox game. Both adults and kids like to create.

I made a rational statement and you tried to counter with an irrational one. Unless you are taking an emotional stance. So how about you define a gamer and we can proceed with whether I am one or not.

Its soothing, doesnt contain many jarring sound effects, and for a growing number of people the soundtrack is nostalgic.

Highly irrational.
It shows a lack of understanding of people and humans in general, as far as I am concerned.

It shows a lack of understanding, that we as people value different things, find different things entertaining, find different things relaxing.

The fact that we can’t even figure out something as small as above, that too is quite fascinating to me.

You decided to define a 80/90s gamer as something very specific, that is highly irrational. You are just old and irrational.

To be specific, your comment suggested that a 80/90s gamer would have a very specific way of thinking.

if you need clarification we already put up with bad graphics because the tech was bad despite pushing it as far as they could.

You didn’t define a gamer despite telling me I am not one.
