Twinks still a HUGE problem

I disagree. I think the time it takes to get from one end to the other, especially when BG’s are your leveling vehicle of choice, takes a bit too long at the moment and to suffer through twinks for the entirety of it was too chronic an issue. Taking into account that the process repeats itself with every new alt created…

People really seem to believe this but I’d be very surprised if the BG forum was the driving force behind the separation. How many of the suggestions here have fallen on deaf ears? Remember that for every player like me who spoke against them here, there was another like you who disagreed.

It seems more likely to me that blizzard found twinks overperforming in a way that prescribing intermittent item adjustments couldn’t fix. It also came with the same patch that allowed quest rewards to become epic at random which would have elevated twinks beyond control (and allegedly has, in the case of level 20 unsubscribed twinks).

Intermittent chest pains could be thought of as “temporary problems”…

Blizzard did not make the change due to people complaining on the forums. That may have been a small factor but if you believe it was the driving force, you’re very naive.

Everyone has their anecdotes on what happened while leveling. I guarantee people even lie about it so they can have a place here on the forums or argue for the sake of arguing because they want attention.

Blizzard has to be objective about it. They’ll use metrics to make decisions. Their slow process to change things will cause confusion as it gives the illusion that they do not believe something is a problem.

So what your saying is people’s temporary issue with twinks could be a sign of something much more serious within themselves? Interesting point of view.

You and the dog can think otherwise, but you have just as much to go on as I do. I hear the squeaky wheel, the wheel gets oil…ya gotta think the squeaks had something to do with it.

Fixed

aaaa

For all we know, Blizzard heard the squeaky wheels about twinks, realized they were no longer separated, also realized that the code base to separate still worked or worked with little re-work and just implemented it to shut you all up. They have a habit of picking off the low hanging fruit to try to appease the masses and look like they do stuff. A temporary problem such as a twink is about as low hanging as fruit gets.

Sure, that’s the thing with problems- some people will complain about them and ask for them to be changed. I just think it’s safer to assume that data collection is more responsible for the design philosophy flip than the dog’s and my loudness on the forum. I wish we were that important but we’re kind of not. :upside_down_face:

You think too highly of a company that regularly QAs hotfixes on live servers.

And you give too much credit to the influence of forum posters.

Stuns would have been removed by now and there would be PvP vendors out the whazoo if they valued the opinions expressed here. :joy:

You do have a point there :joy: thank god they mostly ignore feedback here. Not so much about the vendors.

I don’t see those as low hanging as twinks tbh…both would require more work than re-using old code to split queues.

They sure jumped over this stupid garbage.

A group(s) effort which did not rely on forums made this much more effective.
The groups/parties involved all had different wants/needs/expectations behind the driving force for “Separation”.

Balancing would have been the best opportunity to maintain populations and communities, as myself and others here have been strongly behind compared to a heavy handed “Separation”.
The squelch needed to be silenced, sadly the quickest/easiest method has seemed to have been taken.

Does it look like they thought this one through?
Or is it just temporary…

No kidding. Considering the small % of players who actually post on forums, it would be silly to read too much into it. Sure, they may take some notes and then possibly look into it, but sometimes, the test results are surprising.

No they are not. When they were in the leveling queues, it was all through the brackets so stop speaking rubbish.

Every game has the same issue. Just go read the forums on GW2, ESO etc etc, it’s not unique to wow.

…do you know what ‘temporary’ means?

Of course, everyone knows it’s a way that you cook shrimp!

So what do you mean twinks are a temporary problem? Explain yourself better. Temporary because you level quick through the brackets if you win? Just to enter the next bracket to meet more twinks?
