Twinks = no new battleground growth. Ever

Twinks can be in a separate bracket or they can be in the main bracket and eventually they will be the only people playing.

I’ve been playing this game since 2004. I know that doesn’t mean anything.

As both a player and a shareholder this is a problem.

I tried to get my son into this game. He’s 10 years old. Twinks wreaked him in bgs. He was like…“Nope. Eff this. Dad come play my games!” I’ve tried to get friends into this game. They were like…“Why would I play this?”

I understand the twink argument but I disagree with it. You twinks are going to end up alone by yourselves no matter what. No one wants to play an unwinnable game. No one. Not a vet, and definitely not a new player.

I agree that character progression is important. I agree that those that work the hardest and put in the most time deserve to have an advantage.

But you’re killing the very thing you love. If you get what you want you’ll be the only ones left.

Why would you take a newbie into a twink bg?

Because there isn’t a separate queue.

There were twinks in low level bg’s when I started playing, and I got destroyed. It made me want to get better gear and do that to other people, not quit. Your son sounds like a quitter, OP.

Let him do class trials until he finds a combo he likes. Buy him a boost and run him through island expeditions to 120. That’s on you for him quitting. It’s like looking out at the park and seeing all the bullies there and you make your son go play at the park and get upset when he gets bullied.

Buy him a boost…

Not pay to win at all is it?

This also pretty sure the game comes with a boost too

The boost goes to max level right? No twinks? Or are 119 twinks the most powerful and the most likely to deter new players? Be honest with yourself.

Let’s be honest, OP. Is it your son that’s having trouble with twinks or is it you?

The boost goes to 110. You then run him through island expeditions to 120. 119s are the most powerful twinks of all the brackets.

If you buy BFA, it comes with a boost.

The fact is this. Wow has multiple competitors that do battlegrounds as well or better and can be played NOW…not a a few weeks from now.

I’m a vet, I wanted to recruit both my kid and a few friends. All noped out.

The twinks may win, but eventually they won’t have the very thing they want because all that will be left is twinks. Your view is myopic.

PVP aint for everyone

If twinks were the reason that your kids and friends noped out then they would have never liked the game anyway.

Are you one of those people that speed up when someone tries to pass after you’ve went 10 under for the past 15 minutes?

If you win you also lose. You will end up alone with only other twinks and you won’t be the best in any bracket.

Focus on epic battlegrounds, where there’s lots to do even if you aren’t going to win due to twinks. You can take over a mine with him, back cap a tower, or something that’s fun to do together, and not worry about the rest of the battleground.

low lvl bgs are annoying. you simply die a lot because of the lack of counterplay abilities.

that being said, i mean… you coulda got your kid some twink gear. IDK even then I don’t like playing low lvl bgs. Healers don’t have enough saves, and the dps don’t have enough saves either. I see twinks get 6+ deaths regularly in low lvl bgs.

You’d think queues would be made shorter by rejoining the brackets as they did but I wonder if the presence of twinks is driving others away and hurting the queue.

I sort of doubt that’s the case but it’d be interesting to know either way.

First of all the only people playing MMOs these days are people who’ve been playing MMOs. I’m not surprised that a young child doesn’t want to play World of Warcraft in the age of Mobile gaming & Fortnite.

Secondly twinking used to be one of the last communities this game actually had after group finder killed the social aspect of this game.

The Battleground forums used to belong to the different twinking brackets. There were rivalries, borderline “famous” players who people either loved or hated (Even I still remember some of their names). There were economies based around twinking with people paying hundreds of thousands of gold for BiS, even paying for sever transfers to get the items.

There were player run tournaments, a plethora of gearing guides, & massive amounts of sh*t talking. I remember getting out of some games & immediately tabbing over to the BG forums because you KNEW someone was going to say something.

I can’t even begin to describe what twinking brought to this game. I can close my eyes right now & replay moments that happened 6 years ago in a AB game. Blizzard already killed twinking a while ago, it’s over (and growing up probably didn’t help either); the only thing you have now is people taking time to gear their characters.

But don’t worry Blizzard will cave and separate the queues again, then your generation removed kid can play battlegrounds in game he doesn’t even enjoy.

This 100%, twinks are annoying if they’re being a-holes. The community was always the best part though, I miss it :’(

Quick question, if you, your kid, or your friends can’t handle getting stomped as a fresh level 10-19, why is anything going to be changed as a fresh level 120??? Isn’t the same argument going to be had about an insanely geared 120 face rolling your kid that just turned 120? It never ends.

The only thing that’s going to put a nail in the coffin of wow (as if it isn’t there already) Is blizzard catering to the whining, and crying from players not doing as well in the game as others.

New/Lazy players can’t understand, or put the time into building good talent trees?? Let’s cry about it until they get taken out in 5.0.4

New/Lazy players can’t understand/don’t want to put the time into hunter pets?? Whine about it until they get taken out in 4.1.0

New/Lazy Players don’t want to take the time to be social, and find a party to take down a 40 man raid, because it’s too hard, and they can’t/don’t want to put effort into something that should by all accounts take hours (if not days to do), thereby negating the entire point of an MMO?? Cry about it until they change it in 4.3.0

Crying about things you’re not able to overcome until Blizz changes it so that everybody can do it leaves everyone with a watered down mess that isn’t even remotely playable.
