Twinks are Ruining Battleground Queues

Maybe a good fix would be have Experience based on HK’s and KB’s reward more experience. Then that way they would try to PvP and actually gear up so they can be competitive. That would be really interesting and PvP would be far healthier. We wouldn’t have anyone zerging Bosses in AV anymore people would be capping towers and farming kills.

But wouldn’t separating the queues fix that.

The people who are genuinely there just to win the BG would be in their own BG and the people who are there as part of their leveling would be doing.

Shouldn’t that be a win win for everyone?

They already have a solution for this, separate the queues.

Let me answer that by asking a simple question and explain an analogy. If you have a fight with another person. Don’t you want to find their weakness? Don’t you want to be stronger, faster, have more stamina? That’s what real PvP is.

For me RPG PvP is always finding the advantage, it’s a war and wars aren’t won because they balance each side out. They are won because of resources, strategy, and guess what. Having better technology, aka… gear.

I’m interested in real PvP. I know this is a difficult concept for you to grasp. I always want my team to have the above. I want them to be better prepared, skilled, geared, enchanted, gemmed, professions, experienced so we win. That is part of the game and what makes this game better than other games where gear isn’t important.

Legion was a terrible expansion because gear didn’t matter. It was massively hated by PvP players and that is why they removed templates. Ion said that Templates were a mistake and removed the RPG aspect of the game. It was bad for PvP for this genre.

Get it?

Yea and that is what Retail is for. No reason to ruin WotLK. So this minority can go play dead Retail where PvP is atrocious.

Oh no I get it and thank you for agreeing that actual skill doesn’t matter to you, you’re no different than the max level guy who camps low level zones and then runs away when someone equal level shows up.

And that mentality was common among twinks which is why the twink queues died when they were separated.

So by your logic, does that mean that people with full BiS arena gear aren’t there to just stomp people?
Could we have someone who is in full relentless weigh in on this?

I am not there to stomp anyone, I am actually a dedicated healer, so I am only healing the stompers, so I can not comment on the motivations of why everyone else twinks.

My husband twinks, (he was against it as well), until he saw how much fun I was having, the friends I made, and how challenging tuning your character to be just right really is.

I just asked him why he decided to give twinking a shot, (and he, who is a very seasoned pvper with the title of “Grand Marshal”), said twinking was more fun because it’s amazing to see your character grow in power, and is more challenging than dragon killing (aka PvE),because killing another twink is the best feeling, especially the ones he calls “extra sweaty.”

Twinking can be hard, an expenesive, and time consuming depending on how “sweaty” you want to get. But you do it because it’s rewarding to go from sitting at the graveyard, to being the one sending other’s to the graveyard, especially lazy levelers, and bots.

The queues on retail don’t pop because not enough people are queueing each bracket.

Have you ever actually twinked? If not, give it a try, it’s really fun and gratifying to go get revenge on the same twinks who smashed you.

Skill does matter to me though. I already said that. You are just either too dense to understand it or trolling. Skill is very important.

I’ll give you one last shot to understand this with an analogy.

Thor didn’t rush off to fight Thanos because he needed a Thanos killing weapon. He went on a Quest to have a weapon forged in the dying heart of a star. He attained Stormbreaker. Now Thor is a very skilled fighter. However he is smart. That is why before running into battle he attained Stormbreaker to “Harness” his skills better and so he could “Counter” Thanos.

Now apply that to WoW. If you rush into a BG and you didn’t get Stormbreaker (aka gear, enchants, professions) or quest so you can use your skills and have counterplay. That is your fault. You aren’t playing the game correctly. This is an RPG game. It’s a gear based game and what makes PvP in this game more real and better.

WoW PvP is amazing because gear matters. It’s an RPG game. You got to play the game and attain power and be skilled with that power. The people that complain just aren’t PvPers.

This game has never ever been like that. Even back in vanilla, skill only got you so far. Wanna be even better, you need better gear. This is Warcraft, not an actual PvP oriented game. To the original developers, it was their fun little project. These days, good PvP means get gear

Nope because Arena has ratings and eventually those people end up fighting other equally geared players.

Right so it’s just about relying on gear to win instead of skill

So then why do you have an issue with twinks being in their own queue?

The twink queue didn’t pop because twinks stopped queuing when they had to fight other twinks. The regular queues were just fine.

Having gear is not skill

It’s part of the game and what makes this an RPG as I explained. It’s real PvP. Read it again.

Also if you are a skillful players as you claim…Then why didn’t you get the gear? Or are you not skilled enough at playing the game? Seriously you contradict yourself and are just obviously lazy and don’t like PvP or RPGs.

I love this. I am terrible at PvP. Like we are talking absolutely the worst.
I am an the oldest, disabled, slow, can’t key bind, mouse clicking, keyboard turning goof you’ve ever met.

But I love, love, climbing my way to the top, gearing, leveling professions, and watching my characters grow to be the best they can be, then coming back getting some revenge on the same twinks who kept me un-alive so many times, in my case, by healing the true bad a***s, but still.

Twinking is actually enjoying a character you created to have fun with, and watching them become something wonderful.

I also play max level and let me tell you, it’s not for the faint of heart. I am full geared with every peice of deadly, the few furious and relentless peices I can get. Full gems, full enchants, etc. and have found the level 80’s to be way more toxic than almost any twink I have ever met.

You still just aren’t getting it. PvP is a sporting event, having better gear isn’t the challenge it’s about beating someone who has the same gear. The world series wouldn’t be interesting if only one team had gloves and bats.

Now obviously that team would win but noone would say they were the more skilled team. And if that team consistently put themselves in that position while actively avoiding teams who did have the right equipment they would rightly become a laughing stock. Like twinks…

Let me say this again. QUEUES DO NOT POP.
There are not enough people in each bracket to make a viable game.
I could care less if the brackets are split or not, but it does NOT work that way.

And no, it is not relying on gear. My unmdergeared huisabnd was killing twinks before he got geared. Skill does matter. Gear makes the skill even more meaningful.

Right queues didsn’t pop for twinks because twinks don’t want to fight other twinks.

Queues for non twinks were just fine.

No you aren’t getting it. This isn’t a sporting event. This is a war that takes place in fantasy. It’s an RPG game.

Again answer me this question…

If you have skills, then why aren’t you getting the gear to fight these battles? Why are you trying to skip playing the game?

Really this analogy explains the concept of this game you just refuse to read it.

I’m still not sure what confuses you about gearing not equaling skill. Especially while leveling.

Honestly you just sound like you are bad at pvp and can only win by out gearing someone. Once again this is no different than a max level ganking people in a leveling zone and going “herp derp me good pvp”

I was in those effing queues wanting for HOURS for ONE to pop… they did NOT pop.
We got a group together, 5 twinks each side, we queued, still no pop.
There are just not enough twinks in each bracket for them to pop. Period.

PvP is about PvP. Get geared or get out, or would it be OK if I bring my fresh 80 wearing a few blues to ICC when it launches? Will I be welcome there?
No? why not? Oh… because I don’t have the gear. Hmm…
You gotta gear for max level, so… why don’t you have to gear for level 79? 69? 59? etc.

Then we need to get rid of arena’s and tier raiding gear. Let eveyone have the same gear all the way around. In fact, let’s get rid of gear all together, so that we all have the same exact chance to show off our skills!
