Ah so a little bit like the 70’s. Thank you for the response. I am really wanting to make a twink healer for the bracket, but not sure what gear to aim for.
No it killed PvP as a whole. It killed great PvP in brackets. It killed participation. It went against the whole point of the game which is gearing up too PvP.
Everyone is a Twink whether you are low level or max. It’s literally the reason why we play gear based games. It’s not complicated and people like the OP’s opinion is hurtful for the games health.
Wrong people just want to afk in BGs and level. Which isn’t PvP. They are there to level and not PvP and it’s evident when they Que and haven’t put any thought into gearing or trying. Which is horrible for PvP.
Except that EXP on BG’s were popping just fine so no it didn’t kill pvp.
It just exposed that twinks were losers who only wanted to roll non twinks and had no interest in actual pvp. No different than a max level camping low level zones in wpvp.
It’s very unfortunate blizzard allowed twinks back in.
Everyone that plays WoW is a Twink. When you get to max level you Twink your character. That is the reason we play RPGs (gear based games) People who are trying to remove the gear aspect of the game aren’t fans of WoW.
You aren’t getting it and that’s fine. Didn’t expect you too. The solution too good PvP is getting an upgrade, enchanting your gear, learning professions and then actually putting effort into it. Instead of trying to remove that so you can level without PvPing.
I’d like to say that if AV didn’t give experience then maybe people would stop PvEing in there and actually PvP instead and get HK’s. Which is the reason you join a BG. It’s to kill other players not a boss.
Again you aren’t a fan of PvP you just want to be lazy and ruin it.
Not saying i agree or disagree but twinks that had xp off did queue into their own BGs back then. Of course that killed twinking because all the twinks that said they preferred ‘battling other twinks’ were full of it.
Bull s. queues didn’t pop because there were not enough players in each bracket to get a game to pop lol.
Twinks are in every bracket, yes, but there are simply not enough of them per bracket to make for a full team for queues to pop.
It’s really no that hard, or expensive, to get a few gear and enchants as you level.
You don’t walk into a raid with no gear on do you?
Then why would you show up to a BG with no gear knowing that there will be people there that are geared?
How is a geared exp. off person any different at all from a level 80 wearing full arena gear? Does that make them level 80 twinks?
What about on retail where we have people with full BiS mythic that level sync and can stomp even some of the best geared “twinks” ? I’ve seen that happen, too.
This is a delusional statement and no idea where this comes from. Gear doesn’t make you bad at PvP and having a gear advantage doesn’t make you bad at PvP. What makes you bad at PvP is if you don’t gear up which is counterplay. You didn’t learn professions, get pots, enchant your gear. That is being bad at PvP.
Gear based PvP is the real PvP and why it’s better then games where gear doesn’t matter. You need to get crazy gear and power then develop skills around that gear. The problem is this small minority that doesn’t want to do that which makes them bad.
Yeap… and they expect the twinks to carry them while they hide in a corner afk watching wubby streams or something.
Even non-twinks can help out in a BG.
Sit flags, call incomings, annoy the healers on the other team by keeping them busy, play the map, and go sneak towers and flag caps.
Participate. Help your team. You’re there to level, then help your twinks carry you… yes carry you… to a win.
If you Que for a BG and didn’t look at the AH for an upgrade, enchant any of your gear or have at least some pots/buffs. You just aren’t trying. Which is the part that annoys me.
Wrong you are there to PvP. BGs are supposed to be a break from the leveling experience where you test your skills and gear against other players. You are there to PvP and there is “some” experience to be gained.
However if you are in a BG for the sole purpose of leveling… that is just wrong. That is the problem.
No. What is unfortunate is people who want to level through PvP without having to do a single thing to actually help their team win.
They expect instant wins without doing anything but hiding in a corner and letting the twinks they complain about carry the entire game.
Heck, even as a level 70 hunter with crap greens, I could hold towers in Eye and call incomings. I could set traps, guard flags, etc. Be useful.
Was I top kills or damage? Of course not, but at least I tried to help.
In fact, I was invited to twink on my healer because I was right there getting my butt handed to me, but by gosh, I tried to heal the team despite the fact I was at the graveyard every 3 seconds.
Twinks have to earn their gear just like everyone else, we just simply decided that we were geared enough, just like a raider who did the first raid then did not progress.
Same exact concept.
It’s not though. Whoever came up with this bad take? If you are fighting a war you don’t want the other side to be equally matched The whole point is to find whatever advantage you can and use it to win. That is real PvP.
“If you ever find yourself in a fair fight then your tactics suck” - This is what PvP is about.
Gear based PvP is what makes PvP so awesome and the real PvP. Unfortunately there are bad players out there that can’t handle real PvP. They can’t find that advantage and need a crutch.
Well not really because you are explicitly wanting to steam roll people you know will not have that gear as it’s not gear that people leveling normally will have
Which is of course why separating the queues killed the twink queue but not the regular queue. Turns out twinks hated even footed pvp.
Then you best stay away from level 80 PvP because people in full relentless gear will stomp your deadly wearing geared self into the ground by your logic.
I guess those are also twinks?
It did kill the regular Que though. It ruined PvP and the excitement of gearing up in low lvl BGs. It killed brackets and competition. It then just pitted levers against each other who had no desire to PvP and were only there to level. It ruined PvP.
Can you imagine how awesome BGs would be if HK’s mattered again. If there was no experience. The reason to join a BG is to farm up some HK’s and own the other team. That is PvP.
No I described the reason to play this game. It’s wild that you can’t grasp that. I always want an advantage when fighting someone that is literally what real PvP is about. Finding the advantage in the fight. That is how winning is done.
It’s a gear based game and if you don’t get the gear for counterplay you are bad at the game. That is just a fact. What makes PvP in this game so good is the gear and getting skilled at using it.
If you are bad at PvP maybe play another game where everything is normalized so there is no challenge.
It’s not complicated PvP players are excited about Min/Maxing and gearing up for counterplay. It’s the real PvP here!
I agree, but that is the mentality is “I’m just here to level,” and they do not try at all.
No pots, no sitting flags, no slight upgrades, anything, it’s just always “I am leveling through Bg’s” then turn around and be all mad because they got beat by people who bothered to try.
So let me ask you a real simple question, if you think gearing is equal to skill then you would have no problem fighting other equally geared and therefor skilled players right?
