Because you mentioning gear on a level 19 was relevant? The reason a level 19 isn’t likely to have such gear is due to the fact they level so fast. It’s not like someone who is leveling is even at that bracket for more than a day.
Not my fault you decided to go to some extreme example without examining the context.
I thought getting the best gear was the nature of the entire game, not just Twinks. As I said previously, I’ve never in my life leveled with crappy gear in any MMO.
Are you purposely taking worse gear? If so, that might be your problem.
Just want to emphasize that this person has played for a few years and is purposely not buying BOA/enchants. Which would be fine by the way except you’re coming on here and crying about people who do (who are well in their rights to do so). Don’t feeeeeeeeeed the trollllllllllllll
Saying that players in leveling gear vs those in looms (even sans trinks/rings) are on a level playing field on avg is just asinine - especially in lower brackets where I suspect most of the complaints are centered.
You’re trolling or you’re not being honest about your pvp experience.
There is nothing to define, good and bad are relative. I feel like you’re just saying random things because you can’t make a real point.
And of course you aren’t taking worse gear…that was the point. The difference between you and a twink is the twink put a bunch of effort to get that gear, meanwhile you demand that you have the best gear in PvP with a fraction of the effort.
Except the twink didn’t put a lot of effort into that gear, it’s actually relatively ‘easy’ per-se to do. Time consuming and out of the way, and only something someone that wants an advantage over levelers as a result of lacking in another area? Sure.
While leveling in Vanilla/TBC/Wrath, yeah, I tried to keep my gear in decent shape too. Never BiS because that took too long and actively obstructed leveling, but decent at minimum; my gear would be within the top 5 items for each slot as long as doing so was reasonable.
But that was a different time. Leveling was a much more substantial experience and a core part of WoW. Back then the game wasn’t actively pushing you towards max with everything you did and it didn’t make you feel like an oddball for not being max level already. It properly supported leveling as a playstyle. Today, the game readily levels you past your gear’s useful lifespan, meaning you either have to pay through the nose for AH BoEs or artificially throttle XP gain in order to keep each slot in good shape.
If the game returns low level play to a first rate citizen, I’ll actively support twinking. Until then, it’s an anachronistic niche playstyle that shouldn’t be forced on all who pass through below-cap BGs.
Yes, it is incredibly easy to twink, which is another reason why I don’t understand the complaints. The people leveling can’t spend that tiny bit of effort themselves if the PvP is that important to them? I’ve only been back a few months but it seems to me like many enchants and stuff are scaled down by level and would grow as the character did.
I spent $20 for gold and have made characters that are “twinked” enough to be competitive in PvP and cover every class across 2 accounts with more than half the gold left over.
And then even after all that’s said and done - the best gear actually still comes from the battleground itself on a per level basis. The advantage to heirloom gear being that it levels with you and is comparable minus the vers stats.
Right! So maybe scrubs in whites should try harder, they’re going to be taking the same pounding from an heirloom twink as a real twinkBC THEY CANNOT BE BOTHERED TO TRY. They just want a free ride. That’s what quest mobs are for.
It’s easy, but time consuming and out of the way when it could be used oh I Don’t know… Contributing to their goal of leveling while having fun, and using BGs to break the monotony of dungeons and quests.
My point is, by actively leveling you end up with far worse-off gear than the twinks themselves; and you can’t put up a fight at all against those that twink when you’re in an average brackets gear.
