With Cataclysm around the corner, I hope that Blizzard is able to tweak free realm changes to be able to switch across from different types of servers. For example, if you have a whole slate of characters on a PVP server, you are unable to transfer them to a RPVP or Normal server. I’m sure there are a lot of people who encounter new guilds and friends that are in different regions and experience the same sense of frustration with not being able to painlessly reconvene with their community.
What do you mean? Like Korean servers to US servers?
If you have are in US West you cannot transfer for free to a US East. Only to another server on the US West.
Hmm… Oh! You’re referring to some current free transfers?! I see.
I’m not sure what your situation is, but iirc there were some workarounds, like Skyfury → Eranikus → Benediction, for example.
The character you are posting on now is on Sulfuras, which has free transfers available to Whitemane (US West), Faerlina (US East) and Benediction (US East). AFAIK, those are the big 3 PVP servers, and this isn’t a region restriction.
I am also hoping this to can be changed. I have saved my free character move from Skyfury because I want to go to Faerlina, but as of right now you cannot cross realm transfer. I put in a ticket to see if theres anything they can do but I am not entirely sure they would even have the option to help in that way. Its worth a shot though.
Just look at the list of FREE TRANSFERS:
Skyfury → [Eranikus, Sulfuras, Whitemane]
Then look a little closer
Eranikus → [Benediction, Faerlina, Whitemane]
