The assumption is that you had no issues so the issues don’t exist.
There are two reasons for this, you either got lucky and didn’t run into anyone with an attitude, or that you are better than OP and had no reason for people to be mad at you.
I also have had no issues in the last couple of weeks aside from one person who we were 99% sure was a bot, so we kicked them after we wiped a couple of times due to things they were doing and them not listening.
But aside from that I have had no issues, a couple of wipes due to terrible scaling, people were generally nice, I admitted when I made a mistake and apologised and we just got on with it.
Maybe I also got lucky with the right groups, but maybe I am also being a nicer person and that makes others be nicer back to me.
That was the big issue where things fell apart in here. It was an assumption not based in anything I said. It absolutely happens. Even my guildies saw one or two bad runs.
I just think it’s good to get all perspectives of how things are going. Not everyone experiences the same thing. And I think we should share the positive around here right alongside the negative. I feel like it helps others to know that while there is crap that happens, it’s not all crap.
I’ve been pretty lucky this entire anniversary. Had some frustrating groups, one that fell apart, but none that were toxic or kicking people.
I attribute a lot of that to the fact that I find myself paired up random people from my server group and mostly other RP realms.
But I’ve been with the other servers too. I’ve gotten some annoying tanks. But none that have been a huge issue.
Could also just be one of those people who refuses to read chat. Which I never understood. Like… you’re in a group… communicate a little. lol
Also: why are there bots in Timewalking? What do they get out of it? That kinda weirds me out that people bot dungeons.
I was running to keep up with our tank in ZF and hugged the wrong wall. Brought a whole group with me. I apologized and the tank was like “np thanks for actually bringing them to my consecrate.” One of the dps said something like, “got to watch where you going” and I said, “I should be on my DH then, because I could use the excuse I’m blind!” They laughed. Situation was diffused. Sigh of relief. lol
There’s some hope as the pendulum swings back to normalcy. I was in a 10 nw. And the healer was so extremely toxic flaming me as the tank for only knowing the basics of the dungeon and not the high level strats. All the dps were good players and defending me. At the end of the run they called out the healer for having expectations of someone with only 2600 io.
I went into a Time Walking dungeon on an Alt the other week.
The Tank was standing there doing nothing along with a DPS. The healer was running in, grabbing everything, and dying.
I said “why is the tank AFK and the healer getting us all killed”
Then the Tank said “the healer is our real tank, we are just here for experience”
I put it together - they queued as a group, the tank and DPS were going to do nothing, and their healer thought he was good enough to pull everything and tank/heal - he wasn’t. We didn’t make it passed the first boss until I just tanked it as Unholy.
But the stupid healer kept running in , grabbing mobs and dying.
I knew I was sealing my fate, but I had to say it: “he isn’t doing a good job of healing or tanking since everyone is dying”
And I got removed from group. With a 30 minute debuff
I’ve had 2 out of the 3 timewalking dungeon groups I’ve had last night fall apart a few pulls in, the tank just got obliterated and the healer left immediately lol.
That happened twice, too.
Idk what’s going on, but I could use one of those lvl 10 twinks lol.
They all seemingly disappeared, haven’t seen any this week.
Well, it was either that or leave silently and get a 30 minute debuff. I feel like they should know how terrible of an experience they were causing for you. If they want to screw around and do dumb stuff, they should queue with a whole group instead of trolling others.
Why do you keep making these threads and commenting in all the other exact same threads, you are showing your true colors and the impact you have had on the community.
Pugging in WoW is a mistake. People either learn from it and stop pugging, or continue to make it and suffer. There are no alternatives. Playing with friends and guildmates is the optimal choice.
This is the design philosophy of Blizzard, to make playing the game as unpleasant as possible for people who are not willing to change their careers so they can be available during prime playing hours, abandon their family responsibilities like real gamers™ do, join the right type of guild, belong to the right clique within that guild, and suck up to the right officer in order to be allowed to play content.
Somebody doesn’t understand that this is an entertainment product that people buy for its entertainment value. It is actually not possible to go full control freak on someone and convert them from people who want to play for fun, whether or not their friends are available, into people whose only purpose in life is to beat other people in a kid’s videogame.
Grow up. Trying to force people to undergo a personality change because you think they are doing entertainment wrong is like waking up in terror because you know that there are people out there who are drinking coffee wrong.
Is it any wonder that more people than ever are soloing now in order to avoid playing with control freaks who think they are doing life wrong by not wanting to be like you?
The idea that you can remove all options from the game in order to force people who play the game for fun into becoming obedient drones in order to satisfy some malignant stranger just shows how out of touch you and your ilk are.
You’re welcome to your opinion, but the FACT is, if you PUG, your chance of ruined enjoyment climbs exponentially. I have friends and a guild so I can run with people I know and trust for the 10-15 hours a week I have to game. Pugging is a choice, a bad choice, but a choice none-the-less. If people CHOOSE to pug, then they can shut up and deal with the toxicity that comes with it.
The FACT is that since Blizzard has actively worked to ruin the enjoyability of the game for people who have chosen to pug (for whatever reason), it is only Blizzard’s problem that the majority of people who are paying to play what you think is your game are having less fun.
Designing an entertainment product to be less fun to its customers isn’t actually a good business decision. I guess you’ll only be happy when WoW has become a tiny elite hardcore lobby game with a cult following.
