Turalyon is receiving Varian's treatment

Turalyon is a legendary character, but suddenly he seems like a random secondary character. He is suposed to be a legendary paladin commander who commands his troops and when he comes into action he is suposed to have more light than standard paladins.

I feel like he’s getting the same treatment as Varian, a legendary character who suddenly appears extremely old and disposable.

Before War Within, there were several theories that someone as imposing as Turalyon could be the next villain due to the philosophy of light not being malleable.

But Turalyon in War Within is just meh… i feel like he could die at any moment.
Writers are intentionally devaluing him.

They aren’t giving him the Varian treatment, they’re giving him the Garrosh treatment. I think he’s eventually going to be a raid boss, and I’m completely ok with that.

Turalyon is the leader of the Army of Light and we’re just starting a full Light VS Void expansion trilogy. He’ll get his moment.

The people expecting him to go full Deus Vult have paid zero attention to his character, though.

I think they were going to garrosh him but they shifted tracks after people’s exasperation with faction conflict expansions.

They would have still found a way to make it the horde’s fault anyway.

If you’ve noticed. Pop culture is a bit backwards on things like this. Good is bad, and bad is good.

He is the leader of the army of light? yes
Do he look or act like one? no

Thats the point.

I mean he is currently commanding the Alliance forces, and was doing so during all of his appearances so far this expansion.

So, yes?

Yeah but that theory was always silly, and based on nothing. He’s devout in his faith but he’s not a zealot. As evidenced by his wife being a void user and him staying married to her.

He’s the regent of Stormwind and supreme commander of the alliance. Is that not enough value?

All of the established characters outside of Anduin and Moria are kind of getting phased out it seems. Really not sure what they’re doing with Anduin though lol.

They are too afraid to actually do anything with gay characters so they all get a happily ever after and little to no problems.

Flynn made a brief appearance to be like “i have to find the gift my husband gave me” and then vanished.

They’re doing a Thrall with him. They’re also doing a Thrall with Thrall apparently. For like the third or fourth time.

Is it weird i’m actually interested in what they’re doing with Anduin now that Christie Golden is no longer writing him?

At the end of the last story bit they made it seem like he might retire his father’s sword and maybe the throne all together. Maybe he’ll actually go back to looking like a priest instead of being a paladin in all but name

Yes,
I hope he doesn’t have problems using the light and whines for 1 whole exp like other characters.

Yes, he is.
He act like one? no.

He doens’t even fight like a paladin in War Within.

Define a Legendary character.

Turalyon is above legendary status. Hes probably the strongest paladin in the game lore wise. He doesnt age, and became lightforged by Xera heraelf. I get him not being as prominent when Alleria is the face of the expansion. I hope his role goes more of an Anduin mentor as a commander. Turalyon can also supply anduin with unlimited draenei girls for our boy.

I akso hate the idea of turning him evil just because horde had evil. Turalyon is a paladin of old and yet he fought with horde side by side on argus. After all these years as commander of the alliance if he wantes to stirr a faction war he wouls have already done it. His interactiona with that noname magar girl are also cool. He agreed to work with the horde but his alliance pride is front and center all the time

We all know why.

The only part i disagree. I don’t.
He is being devalued just like Alleria, legendary Troll hunter is becoming just a shadowlands tyrande 2.0.

Good hopefully we can get rid of him like get rid of him somehow eventually, I was originally hoping it would be like a showdown between him and Alleria where they both died but I find her a bit more cool now so she can stay and he can go.

Do you want to see him going about all the admin of running a kingdom? I don’t.

Blizzard likes to forget that Turalyon was away when the scourge attacked his home of Lordaeron.

Blizzard also likes to forget that Turalyon swore an OATH to house Menethil to protect the lands of Lordaeron.

And Blizzard likes to further forget that house menthil is survived by “Queen” Calia Menethil.

If turalyon gets any screen time it should be groveling and kissing Calia’s feet for failing her, her family, and his entire kingdom.

I don’t even think we’ve seen those two interact. We’ve seen him interact with his old teacher Alonsus, but Calia? I predict he’d go all Jon Snow and bend the knee.

But that’s old lore and blizzard hates old lore, so whatever.

I bet this would be more interesting than spiders plot.

Modern devs can’t forget or hate what they don’t know.
