Trying to pay back a Name change Chargeback

Long story short, there was a chargeback on a $10 name change. Loaded that amount into my blizzard balance. Keep getting an error and wont let me pay back the chargeback. Can I get some help on this?

You will have to open a ticket on this one this is why a chargeback is never a good idea blizzard will make u go thru alot of hoops to get back in there good graces.

Just to make sure, you’re using the Repay Chargeback button in your transaction history? Though I reckon the hurdle is if you only added $10 to your balance, you may need to add more to cover any applicable taxes.

If you’re sure of those and still can’t get it to work, you’ll need to submit a ticket.

yeah im using the repay chargeback button in transaction history. Original charge was $10 flat. So not sure if its that. The weird thing is that none of my cards works now, paypal doesnt work, only buying balance payment went through, but even then that charge is “pending” I had to buy a giftcard and apply the code to even get that balance. And now it wont let me payback the chargeback…

That is deliberate they cant trust any other form of payment so they have to get u to use bnet ballance cards.

That’s by design. In Blizzard’s eyes, you have proven untrustworthy. Having to use a gift card means there is no way for you to take the funds back again.

The support article below has a link to the ticket path you want to use. You will need to make a ticket.

Yeah sent in a ticket. so is my account cooked now? How do i fix this?

Wait for the repayment to go thru.

I’m unsure if the restrictions on payment methods raises when the charge back is repaid.

Extremely frustrating getting non stop automated responses. I’m just trying to pay this chargeback with my Battle.net balance. And the ai customer service just keeps talking about how it’s in queue??? 3 times same automated response. Can’t play my character. Have the Battle.net balance to pay the chargeback. And it wont let me. Customer service is terrible

There is no AI.

And if they have told you it’s in queue, it’s in queue. You will unfortunately just need to wait.

I’m sorry you’re in this position, but this is why chargebacks are never a good idea. Hopefully it can get sorted out soon.

What exactly is in queue though? lol there’s balance on my account. And the button is there to repay the chargeback. It’s just not working, “encountered an error” Basically wasn’t my chargeback. PayPal defaulted to a different card I had on there from an old relative I had helped to pay for a Christmas thing unrelated. So she charged back. And at the time my main default card was holding for a ton of payment( twitch gifted subs) and I hadn’t realized it charged a different card. This happened about 2 weeks ago. And the chargeback was yesterday. And now my main character that got the $10 name change is “locked due to a billing issue”

Just want to point this out, there is no automated responses. Although the responses may look like it done by bots or are automated, I can guarantee you, they are templates.

It is odd. 2 different GMs almost identical responses. Same template. Introduction, apologize/empathize, Give reason, give hope/ link to article then outro.

… not sure what you think is odd, you literally described what a template is.

It is how templates generally are. Just imagine, having to manually type the same thing out to a lot of other people who would need help from Blizzard’s customer support.

finally got it resolved. If anyone stumbles upon this in the future. The way to get them to actually do it is to type something like this

THERE IS NOTHING PENDING.

$10 IN MY BALANCE RIGHT NOW

Order #XXXXXXX CHARGEBACK NEEDS TO BE REPAID

USE $10 TO PAY THE CHARGEBACK

Order #XXXXXXX

Or, you know… just wait for the queue, which is likely what happened in this case. Your resolution had little to nothing to do with the content of your ticket.

Idk why confrontational people just comment so confidently without reading the discussion, and clearly missed the point. The “queue” was the pending balance I purchased, as their response to my tickets were saying. They weren’t looking at the balance I already had which was more than enough to pay it off. They solved it when I sent that ticket (the order number is probably what triggered it). And the pending balance I bought was still in “queue” for a day after. So yes it did solve it
