I think his point was more that he’d run it for more chances, though I disagree in thinking anyone is forced. Especially with Catalyst, and relative power of set bonuses.
Lfr is hard because half the players are afk, why lfr sucks. Raids have been getting easier since slands since most the world first guilds quit. Heroic is what normal used to be.
Mythic raiders need to stop chiming in on what LFR should be. It’s not for them. More importantly, Blizzard needs to stop listening to anyone about LFR if they have Mythic raid achievements.
So I’ve raised a related issue before and gotten the same elitist pushback. All evidence points to we, as a playerbase, being beyond the 8-10 boss raid design that has been cut and paste in every expansion since at least MoP. I mean WoD went even further with SoO. Nobody wants that.
Here’s what I think WoW needs:
- Every Normal raid should be queueable in wings like LFR. You can gate this if you want, meaning you can’t queue for one wing until you’ve done the previous ones. This would be unlike LFR;
- Every TW event needs a raid. Many don’t. We have BT, Ulduar and Firelands. Why not ToT, BRF or Hellfire Citadel, Nighthold, etc?
- Every TW raid needs to be divided into wings like LFR;
- Every TW raid needs to be queueable like LFR. The current system of forming a custom group and then queueing creates difficulties replacing people. It’s time for it to go.
We definitely have people who derive their self-worth from WoW raiding making a lot of noise about how the game needs to be even harder despite all evidence to the contrary that this is what players want.
I honestly cannot stand the “jumping through hoops” gameplay in raids. I think BWL kinda just ruined raiding for me. Give me a good tank and spank, because the dance dance revolution crap is terrible, imo.
absolutely agree.
LFR is for casuals…not for whiny self proclaimed elistists who can just go do M+ if they need better gear.
All for it.
But, Im all for ANY additions the game that lets me avoid the obnoxio’s.
For me it was AQ40. I liked it all up to ZG.
I hate this too. Oh look, it’s another encounter with cirlces on the ground. Are these circles I need to avoid? Or do I need to stand in them? Ugh. What’s worse is that a lot of these encounters have “personal circles” meaning the cirlces you see aren’t the ones other people see, necessarily. It kinda just breaks the immersion for me.
LFR groups would wipe on Patchwerk.
Nobody said anything about having to do it for normal gearing… I said its another chance at your tier set. Tier set is used in mythic+ bud. Do you know anything about this game?
I know…son…you dont need to touch LFR as you CLAIM to get geared for normals lmao.
Do YOU know ANYTHING about this game? lmao.
now…youre boring me with this inability to accept fact…and since we both know youre just gonna keep trolling me for the night…Imma ignore you now and save us BOTH some time wasted…
LFR is what it’s supposed to be. What is offensive is that after all this time the base is worse
this.
with the catalyst being a thing, it’s simply absurd to claim you “have” to run LFR for tier.
So getting tier without doing m+ or raiding is something I know a lot about. Let’s use DF S3 as an example, This was 10.2 when Emerald Dream was added. Your sources of Veteran+ gear were:
- Dream Wardens 1500 rep weekly;
- Planting 5 seeds weekly (this changed to 3 in S4, which was a good change)
- Superbloom weekly
- Aurostar WB could drop items in 2 slots for each armor type, some of which were tier slots. This was Champion gear;
- 10.2 added Heroic and tW dungeons to the Great Vault, which gave Veteran gear. This was a really good change; and
- TW weekly gave a Champion or Heroic piece.
So there are a lot of sources but what do you notice? You have no choice about any of these. There’s nothing to select an item for a specific slot. This was a change from 10.1 where Time Rifts and Dreamsurges gave you a token you could spend. In 10.1.5 and 10.1.7 (when they were respectively added) this was Veteran gear. Later it beame Adventurer gear and not tier-eligible (other than the Cache of Dreams for Awakened events in S4).
So how long could getting a 4 set take? There was a lot of RNG here. I had a BM hunter who got the exact same Vers/mastery neck from the TW weekly 3 times, for example. Worse is I had a DK who at the end of Season 3 only had a 2 set. Why? Because the ED weeklies have a tendency to give you cloaks.
I believe this is intentional on Blizzard’s part to slow you down. That DK got I believe 13-15 cloaks from ED in S3. This was a frustrating experience.
One nice thing about S3 was the Dreamsurge and Time Rift blue gear could still give you S2 tier. I was a big fan of this and was sad it wasn’t the cvase in S4.
There should always be a way for you to select one piece as a form of bad luck protection.
S4 got a little weird with Awakened events but the same RNG applied.
My point here is thhat if you got unlucky, which did happen, you may very well have to do LFR to get a 4-set.
And it’s irrelevant. You should be thankful you can get tier at all outside of raid now.
Why? The people who don’t want to do M+ or raids is the majority of players. Blizzard is giving us something because the alternative is us simply not playing.
WoW was made for casuals of Everquest. It was never about the hard raids, it was about the social experience.
60% of the player base raids.
Tier used to come from only raiding.
Not it can be earned without even being in a raid.
Be thankful.
It is a faceroll,
It served me pretty well in DF when I went to PUG the normal raids.
Raids are supposed to be harder. And with the new story mode feature, they should absolutely stay harder. It creates an experience you can remember. Otherwise it’s boring.
And when I mean harder, I mean “have to do a couple of mechanics”. Not all of them or most of them even. Just some lol.
Especially if it’s a step into normal from LFR.
It is.
There’s 1 more or occasionally 2 more mechanic yes.
Don’t worry Blizzard got your covered. They adding Story Mode raid with your valiants followers now.
